We need to play our hardest. We tanked so hard all season, we're going to be labeled as the worst team ever, when on paper, there have been many worse teams.
June '13 GMAT - Houston Rockets
Dwight Howard / Lucas Nogueira
Lamarcus Aldridge / Josh McRoberts / Anthony Tolliver
Chandler Parsons / Mickael Pietrus / James Anderson
Nicolas Batum / Will Barton / Daniel Gibson
Chris Paul / Nate Robinson / Mike James

I still don't want to go down in the record books as the worst team ever. While we are already being perceived that way, I'd rather there not be set-in-stone factual / quantifiable evidence that links us back to having the unquestionable worst team ever.

There are five games left, if we win just one, we won't have the worst record ever, just the worst since the 1976 ABA-NBA merger. If we can somehow squeak out two more wins (very unlikely) we'll pass the 93 Mavs and the 98 Nuggets in win percentage.

maybe teams will continue to rest their starters against us, not that it has made a difference so far.

Though admittedly I wasn't forced to watch those teams by my fanhood, I think it is already assured that we are the worst team ever. Realistically we have probably 6 players who will be on nba rosters in 2 years. The fact that we play both DJ White and Matt Carroll on a regular basis pretty much puts us to the top of the list by default!

This.

People will always question the legitimacy of this season so I guess it was the right time to throw the tank gauntlet.

this is what we should do to the bobcats on thursday if they come out like they did the past two games

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-di ... Tk.YI5nYcB

A small group of Genoa "ultras" put on an incredible display of fan power during Sunday's match against Siena. After Siena took a 4-0 lead over relegation-threatened Genoa early in the second half, the hardcore supporters group began their protest and essentially held the match hostage.

From Football Italia:

Genoa were losing 4-0 at the 53rd minute when the Marassi crowd halted play by throwing fireworks and climbing on top of the tunnel.

Captain Marco Rossi went to negotiate with the ultras, who demanded the squad remove their jerseys, as they were "unworthy" of wearing the Genoa colours.

After some time, the players accepted and there were tears from Giandomenico Mesto as he handed over his shirt.

Rossi was walking around the pitch with a pile of jerseys to show the fans, but Giuseppe Sculli refused to co-operate.

Sculli then went over to the ultras standing atop the tunnel and delivered an impassioned plea, making it clear that he didn't want to hand over his shirt because he was giving his all. Goalkeeper Sebastien Frey also refused to take off his shirt and argued with fans behind his goal. As the riot police continued to loiter, Sculli's speech and the supporters' protest then ended with Sculli in tears and being consoled by one of the ultras.

Fats you're getting too emotional over this. Yes it's embarrassing we are the worst team ever, but you know MJ is doing the right thing by blowing it up completely and starting over. Right now we're paying for our past sins but we can only go up from here. In a little over a month our fortunes can change dramatically. Better to finish where we did than get the ninth pick again. Nothing worse than that. At least if we don't get 1 we're pretty much guaranteed to be top 3. This off season we start fresh with a bunch of youngin's in summer league, a new coach and more crap cleared from our roster. I'm excited for the off season. It's just too bad our franchise waited until to blow it up. Should have been done three years ago.

almost all of us agreed that we needed to blow up the roster and build through the draft. it was no surprise to any of us that we a bad team this year. its not a surprise to see us with the most ping pong balls. after all, that was our goal. but i dont think anyone in the front office or any of us could have expected things to be this bad.

and its not the losing that bothers me. i was prepared for losing. i've been through losing with this team. what bothers me is the nights like the past two nights where the effort is clearly lacking. it bothers me that we aren't at least competitive on the defensive end. i expect us to suck on offense, but watching teams run a layup drill on us as our players just look confused bothers me. it points to lack of focus, lack of preparation and lack of desire.

it bothers me that even though we all know what the front office is doing, they are making no attempt to even try to put a product worth watching on the floor in the meantime as evidenced by signing higgins, not cutting higgins, waiting too long to use the open roster spot and being too accepting of the rash of "injuries" that seem to plague our vets.

and its frustrating to read the city/franchise i love get trashed in the media on a daily basis. on that note, i cant wait for the playoffs to start so that the writers will have something else to talk about.

so to recap, i am ok with the losing. i am not ok with the lack of effort. its the lack of effort that makes me so angry.

and for what? a 25% chance at getting davis.

and when we dont get that 1st pick, just watch the media have a field day with laughing at us again and talking about how we didnt deserve the pick because we tanked so hard.

watch us draft the one bust out of the top 4 only to listen to 10 more years of MJ is a horrible GM crap.

its coming.

Believe me, Fats, I hear you LOUD and CLEAR. I know what you're feeling right now because I grew up in NY a fan of the Mets, Jets, Rangers and Knicks. Try being a Mets and Jets fan in the biggest media market in the world. Unbearable. I learned to block it all out. I've seen A LOT of shi**ty teams in life but I always know that things can change real quick from year to year.

Look at the Panthers. ONE player has literally changed the fortunes of that pathetic team from two years ago to now where they are a must watch every week. We may not be lucky and get to take Davis, but we can get a good young player in the draft.

Kemba does have skills and he did lead a team to the NCAA championship but he was just not prepared to be a point guard of an NBA team this season without any practice time. Biz has raw skills, but he's never played against the best in the world every night. This off season MJ and Cho will sit down with those two and develop a complete regimen to follow which includes working out, building up their stamina and learning how to be a good NBA player at their position. Remember, we were not allowed to have any contact with them during the lockout. If any two young players needed it most, it was them. It will be different this summer. And one thing you know is these players are hard workers, coachable and want to improve, unlike Tyrus Thomas. These are the types of players we need because it makes everyone work harder. That is the kind of player MJ will look to draft if we don't get Davis. Keep getting those hard workers and soon we will be competitive.

Patience man, that's what I was preaching in the off season. And block out the stupid media and fans of other teams that make fun of us. Lots to look forward to next season and we will be much better. This season is done, no sense looking back or wondering why these stiffs aren't trying harder or why we didn't add anything once the season began. It's all about this off season when we start to climb back up.

I'm really intrigued to see how Kemba approaches next season. I sort of see his rookie season being the exact opposite of when DJ first came into the league. DJ came in under the radar and really had a very good rookie season. But then heading into year 2 there were a lot of expectations put on him and for some reason he just totally collapsed. Maybe it was the pressure, maybe he didn't work harder during the summer and sort of coasted into training camp. I don't know, but he was clearly not the same person or player and it killed his confidence. He was a victim of his early success.

Kemba really had a mediocre rookie year so you know he is going to work ten times harder this summer to improve. DJ probably thought it was so easy after his rookie year that he slacked off that summer and rested. Kemba will not rest. He will be in the best shape of his life, stronger, faster, more skilled and determined to prove the doubters wrong. We'll see. But as DJ quickly found out, it's the work you do or you don't do when you're away from the team that matters most. Just ask Kobe, or any of the top players. Or Larry Brown. And we have one thing going for us, the greatest player ever will teach Kemba how to prepare to be great when nobody is watching. Same goes for Biz, and whoever our draft pick will be in June. Then we build from there and keep getting these young coachable players while adding an older veteran or two that can help teach and mentor our younger players. Good guys, not angry pr*cks like Nazr or S-Jax.

Tyrus Thomas must go. What a :clown:
