2013 general summer league thread

Post#1 » by fatlever » Thu May 2, 2013 1:20 am

its never too early for a summer league thread.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell 3h

Bobcats will play 5 games at Las Vegas Summer League July 12-16. Teams with best records will advance to a playoff ending July 22.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell 3h

Bobcats went 4-1 in Vegas because Kemba, Biz, Mullens, MKG and Taylor all played. MKG told me he'll definitely play this summer.

i would expect to see MKG, taylor and biz + our rookie play. one thing dunlap mentioned was that biz needed to spend less time working on drills this summer and more time playing 3x3 and 5x5.

Mullens played last summer so I'm sure its ok for Biyombo. I'd prefer him take 500 shots a day as opposed to summer league, though.

Knowing Biz he'll be doing both.

Unless that rookie is Noel, he should play. Adrien should be on roster if he comes back, right? I guess Pargo is too old for this - as we don't really need to serach for a serviceable point guard (with having Walker, Session and safe last option in Pargo if needed), there is little need to let our summer team to PG tryout. Maybe Kemba will play?

id love to watch this line run in summer league: Kemba/McLemore or Oladipo/Taylor/MKG/Biz . way too small to work in the actual league but man would that be entertaining as hell playing against other youngins. with the gentry SSOL offense goin.

I seriously doubt that Kemba will be playing in this year's summer league.

I certainly hope not. Too much to risk.

I'm hoping to see Biyombo breakout and have a dominating defensive game in Summer league. 13 rebounds 7 blocks or something if that nature.

He looked rather horrid last summer league.

Biyombo need summer league the same way he needed D-league throughout most of this season. I sure hope that Cho and them don't decide to keep him out of the festivities for whatever reason unless that whatever reason is to train with Hakeem Olajuwon.

I certainly hope we advance to that playoff. More games for our young bloods the better.

Steve Clifford tells me Biz, MKG, Taylor and obviously Zeller will play in summer league in Vegas.

Biz needs it. I'm not surprised by MKG & Taylor going along with the rookie Zeller at all

Summer League performances don't mean a whole lot though. Anthony Randolph and Josh Selby are like the MVPs and they're still pretty irrelevant players. All I want to see from Biz is much more consistent rebounding and more garbage points.

Well he definitely can't be any worse than he was last Summer that's for sure.
