I don't think there's even a slight chance we could get Thompson. The Warriors will do anything to keep him.

I'm not at all a fan of Gordon Hayward. We'd definitely have to overpay to get him. People forget about how inefficient he was this season.

We all thought the same about James Harden.

btw, why are we throwing around Thompson's name anyway? I'm unaware of his contract, but does he not have two years left?

He is not a first option. He would be great here to fill Henderson's starting spot as our third option. He was much better when he played off Al and Milsap.

Klay Thompson is due for a extension this summer and the Warriors are headed into heavy luxury tax land with a team that hasn't really gotten better from last year to this year so they'll be reluctant to pay Thompson a lot of money. There's a possible chance that he'll be trade bait during the summer or throughout the season.

do you think they might want a reasonably priced, average, good character Sg?

Hendo played well against them from memory, can we convince them to save there money and take him? :D

GSW is so in love with the 3ball that they wouldn't touch Hendo with a 10ft pole.

We're stuck with Hendo. The best we can do is draft a SG to groom behind him the next 2 years of his contract or overpay for a SG and make Hendo come off the bench.

yeah I wasn't really being serious, they only way I could see a swap like that happen would be if Thompson pulled an SJax.

I want Thompsosn but for 4/40 Golden State will match it we would have to over pay by like. 2-3 million per year but the salary cap keeps rising so I think they keep him regardless. They shouldn't have overpaid him plus I think they trade Barnes for a better fit.

It's unlikely that Golden State will even be able to match that unless they can find a way to take David Lee, Andre Iguodala, or Andrew Bogut off their payroll by next season

I would take Hayward over the other two but I'm not ecstatic about any of these FAs. I still think Klay is really overrated, if this was the 90s he'd be getting Allan Houston money and we know how that turned out.

If he's a third option he doesn't deserve to be paid 10 mill a year

you don't pay a player based on what option they will be on the team, you pay them based on how good they are and 16/5/5 is worth 10mill when the player putting up those stats is just 24 and has plenty of room to grow and those averages are when he is a 1st option on a horrible team and gets doubled all the time, put him on this team he be even better maybe 18/7/5, a huge upgrade over Gerald who is getting 6mill to do nothing

Also look around the league. The third best player on all the best teams in the league make at least 10 million. He would be an 18 ppg guy here with the shots he would get. Also he would guard the weakest wing player on the other team hiding his defense some. He can pass and would allow McBob to take a lesser role. He would solve a lot of ills.

never was a huge fan of Stephenson, I don't want any part of him after reading this article.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/pacers-fig ... 19341.html
Turner hadn't been the first Pacer to lose his temper with Stephenson these tumultuous several weeks, and Stephenson's relentlessly irritable nature suggests Turner won't be the last

He's gonna get paid and be a headache somewhere, hopefully not here.

I thought the same about S Jax though and he proved wrong.

Jax was what? 33 years old? These guys often get it together when they get older. Apart from that, Jax was more of a maniac off the court, but a good locker room guy. Stephenson is an idiot, whether he plays basketball or not.

I love Jax to the death, yet consider him to be one of those guys who I wouldn't want to have on my team if I were a coach. But even that being said - put a prime Jackson on a playoff team where he gets his playing time and he's one of the best team-mates you can have in basketball. The going might get tough once his team isn't winning or he doesn't get his PT and that concerns both his attitude and his playing style (mainly shot selection).

Just a thought. What do you guys think of Afflalo? We were linked to him in February and I could imagine that the Magic gonna try to unload him if they get another young SG/SF via draft.

Definitely an upgrade over Hendo
