If you like Black Milk's production (I would recommend him as far as post-2000 hip-hop goes, he has some banging beats), his this year's EP "Glitches in the Break" is solid.

Stand-out from the EP:

I absolutely love the sample of that woman's voice (I'm a sucker for sampling of beautiful female singing.. in this case, if that actually is a female voice, not something that has been sped up to get that moaning sound) and Guilty Simpson, a bit unexpectedly, wrote some thoughtful lyrics for the track.

by the way, Tupik, did you listen to Step Brothers? You know, Alchemist and Evidence's album. I feel disappointed as I love Alchemist's production, yet the album felt under-whelming.

working another midnight shift at work. a barely audible radio plays Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a Place on Earth, a definite song for the top30 "corny yet lovable 80s songs because of their goofiness and 80s sound" list.

I'm not a fan of Alchemist. I loved Gutter Water with Oh No, but apart from that I find most of his beats to be pretty boring (although I'm not extremely familiar with his work, I haven't even listened to Albert Einstein yet which I've heard is good). I'm not really a fan of Evidence's solo stuff either, I think he can be pretty bland. He was great in Dilated Peoples but I'm not really a fan of his either.

I'll have to give a listen to that Black Milk album though, his beats always deliver and he's been constantly improving behind the mic. Tronic was awesome, and that Random Axe album was nice as well.

The new Cunninlynguist Strange Journey tape is out too, I can't wait till I get some time to listen to it.

I'm into beats but not so much into vocals, so don't dig on rap too much.

Don't know if folks do soundcloud, but here's my soundcloud page: https://soundcloud.com/yosemiteben

Albert Einstein was decent but I would say that his best work was with Action Bronson on "Rare Chandeliers".

Yeah, Ev definitely isn't that exciting of an emcee.

I already ordered it, I think I will wait to listen for it when it arrives, even though I could legally download it as well.

Oh and I know it was released last year but I got around to listening to Oddisee's Tangible Dream. Damn... Now that was one heck of an album (even though, technically, it's a mixtape, haha). I didn't know that Oddisee can hold down a whole album as a rapper, I looked at him more as a producer previously. It's a humbling and personal record.

i think the closest I got to funk was Stevie Wonder who I still listen to occasionally and Jamiroquai.

Can't believe I forgot about Queen in the 80's. What a great band, had hits in the 70's and 80's.

I got into them in the 90's but my favourite album of all time was made in the 80's

I got addicted to them in my awkward teen years and it has never faded.

here are 2 songs that I like to play late on a Friday arvo to torment the team at work.

the funniest part of this song is that it appears to be serious and not a joke!

Probably the best Metallica album. Ride the Lightning is probably the only other one that has an argument. Honestly, I've hated everything they've put out in my lifetime but enjoyed everything before it.

Holy crap the chorus of the Chombo song where he sounds like he had his tongue cut out is annoying! Your team must love you!

And what did they do to that Cezar guy to get his voice like that? He looks like a villain from The Running Man movie and sounds like his gonads are in his abdomen! I wish they would televise Eurovision in the states. The Unintentional comedy seems off the charts and we Americans can't appreciate it because we don't see it.
