Re: Brian Roberts
Could this be using our room exception depending on what we do with the other 13 million
It was due to start at 2.732 million with 4.5 percent increases which would make it a 2 year 5.587 million dollar deal.

Yeah. Pretty good value for him.

5.8 from what I seen.

Would anyone have predicted we'd have a great or even good offseason if the description of it began with "The Charlotte Hornets committed almost $10m per year for the next two years to Marvin Williams and Brian Roberts."

If this is Room Exception then its fine and based on the timing of him signing we could still use other 13 million or so.

Lol. This is a very blah signing. The guy is a 3rd stringer on a good team. I guess we're not tryna be a good team.

Quite possibly. I had already lost any hope of pursuing Lance, but this keeps the door open at least. If we'd have seen a signing between $3-5M, we'd have probably been out.

Re: Brian Roberts
It's funny but I was just looking at his stats earlier today. I like this move.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Seriously though, I think this is a positive signing.

Hey I started the thread that broke the news for the first time on here. Yay me. Also like the deal. Solid player who will do well for us at that price.

No. We just have a few people that OK everything Cho does because they don't know no better. This has been a very ho hum free agency that I'm very disappointed in. We're not getting better like the teams around us.

There are not many better options out there. You could gamble on a potential team killer in Lance but other than that what is there? Roberts is a solid backup PG who shoots well and can handle the ball. Also since we play so slow and have close games 94% FT will be nice down the stretch.
