Seth Curry looked amazing last night, but it was only summer league. However, he looked like a better point guard than his teammate Tyler Ennis and opponent Nate Wolters

I didn't watch him so maybe you're right, but from looking at his boxscore I see that he has almost as many TOs as assists so far in summer league play, which doesn't surprise me. I don't doubt his ability to get hot and knock down shots like he did last night. I'm just concerned about him being able to run an offense and be any sort of distributor as opposed to a shooter.

Roberts will be fine as long as we go out and get Stephenson or Boozer if not however I would have like to have spent more money in upgrading the backup point.

@hornets
"Detroit was in the mix. Memphis was a part of talks. I felt like this was a great situation not only for me but for my family" -BR

"He shot 37% from the 3pt range. With his ability to shoot and space the floor it will really help our offense" -GM Rich Cho

"I tried so hard to not say Hornets when I was playing for the Pelicans, now it's going back to the Hornets again!" -BR

"We looked at a lot of different options. Coach Cliff had Brian in #NBASummerLeague in Orlando... we think he's a great fit" -GM Rich Cho

“Coming out of Dayton I wasn’t mentally ready for the NBA,” Roberts said. “I needed the time overseas to (improve) not only physically, but mentally as well.”

What did he need mentally?

“Confidence, understanding the game and understanding at my size (how to optimize) my point-guard skills,” Roberts said. “There’s nothing like game experience and I got a lot of that.”

The summer after he went undrafted Roberts played for Orlando’s summer-league team, coached by now-Hornets coach Steve Clifford. Clifford said there’s persistence about players like Roberts that he finds attractive.

“There’s a work-ethic part and they have a deep love of the game,” Clifford said. “To have that kind of determination, they bring a lot of those characteristics to a team.”

I kept looking at pictures of Roberts thinking he looked oddly familiar - annoyingly so. I just realized what it is. Roberts is the evolutionary middle-step between Urkel and Ghetto Urkel. I shall call it Gurkel.

I thought the same thing after I saw his shot chart. Just below the free throw line he shoots well above the league average.

Love the thread title. He really looks like him. I also think he looks like a generic Wii character.

The guy is going to shock a lot of people with his good play. Some even still think we need a backup pg.

Hope you're right, but if Ramon Sessions came back here and asked to be signed, I'd do it in a heartbeat- no question he'd play over Roberts.

I doubt it, if he was that good he would have signed a deal with someone by now.

Roberts will suit us better as a backup than Sessions in my opinion. Way better shooter, and Sessions tunnel vision was very bothersome at times.

Agreed, I was not a fan of Sessions' game. I don't think it's a coincidence that a lot of other guys on our bench (Zeller specifically) started to score a lot easier once he was traded.
