Zach Lavine turning into a star lately. Woulda been a awesome upgrade and successor to lame duck Hendo in every way.

Around the NBA 7.0

Post#3 » by LamarMatic7 » Tue Mar 24, 2015 7:33 am

just to have some material for the original post, here's what a Kings reporter, James Ham, shared on an entertaining Sacramento Kings podcast:

1) First season with the Kings Whiteside got injured and wasn't doing his rehab at all, was just kind of hanging around getting his checks

2) Gained 30-40 pounds of muscle his 2nd year, which apparently was a big surprise

3) Apparently he has ADD. Was clueless when asked in a press conference whether he medicates because of it.

4) After practice Samuel Dalembert and Pete Carril wanted him to practice post moves, post offense and just go 1-on-1 with Sam in the post. Whiteside would just say "nah". Dalembert would be like "dude it's not an option, come over here and work out" and Whiteside would say something like "Alright, I'll give you 10 reps and that's all"

5) His first season with the Kings he made something like 480k and inexplicably showed up the first day of training camp with a $200,000 Mercedes. Obviously, the whole 480k doesn't just land in his lap after the agent's fee, taxes and so on.

6) Hassan one time was flexing and admiring himself in front of a one-way mirror and the media was on the other side laughing their asses off without Whiteside realizing.

7) Jason Jones covers the Kings and follows the team. After a year and a half with the Kings, while on a road-trip, Hassan was like "Hey Jason.... so why are you always here?" and Jason's like "What do you mean?" Hassan's like "Are you a really big fan or something? Why are you at all our games?" and Boogie, who was nearby, was like "Dude... what? Come on. He's the beat writer."

Gaston County Schools, best in the state!

Fun fact, I went to Cherryville High School and in 2001 our history textbooks ended with Jimmy Carter as President of the United States. The Earth Science teacher also had to print out info about plate tectonics because apparently the theory had not been fully understood (or perhaps even discovered? not sure which) at the time our badly-outdated science books were printed. I'm pretty sure plate tectonics was mainstream by the 80s. Public education ftw.

I doubt Mecklenburg is any better, but I never miss an opportunity to have a laugh at Gastonia.

I didn't know teams can just straight out buy a D-League team, MJ you're a billionaire make it happen

Would be a waste of money. Already got about 4 D-League roster spots on our regular roster when you look at Maxiell, Vonleh, PJ, and Taylor. Oh yea and Troy Daniels, almost forgot he was on the team. Forgot about Urkel Roberts too. So that make quite a few dead roster spots that are either rookies Clifford refuse to play or vets that are slightly below average at best.

That's pretty bad when Dalembert's work ethic looks like an Amish guys compared to yours.

I think Kawhi Leonard might be my 2nd favorite player to watch in the league right now behind Curry.

If there was a LVP award it would go to MCW easily.

Gotta be Ronnie. Hasn't played in awhile but I remember he had a couple games with a bunch of steals.
