maybe he hasn't put pen to paper (in which case there's little point in the Hornets releasing anything officially), but the signing is agreed to and will happen.

We haven't waited for actual signings to announce FA agreements in the past, most notably just a couple weeks ago with Lin. They've been out in front with every announcement of final agreement.

Our guys don't seem to announce anything until it's official though. Woj broke Lin a couple hours before the moratorium lifted, but there was no mention from the @Hornets or @HornetsPR until a tweet of a picture of Lin actually signing the contract a day later.

I like the signing because Hansborough is a winner and plays with a bit of nastiness which is something we lacked on the roster.
We are adding players from winning programs. I think that will help our culture.

As far as his skin color goes- it sure does seem like a lot of posters on here are overly focusing on the fact that there are 4 guys on the team who happen to be white. So what? They can all play ball. Hansborough is definitely better then Maxiell.
Players are players and if they are here to help the team win, I am happy to cheer for them.

but can you #protecttherim? If you can't then you won't be receiving my vote for new poster of the year, no way. This board has been missing a rim protector for a few years now and if you're not that guy then I don't see any awards in your future. Hate to be a dick but we all know you're probably not going to solve the issues of this board. Next year, we're once again going to be mediocre at best, and two years down the line... don't even get me started.

I want to know the terms of the deal. If it is low to reasonable I'm OK with it. Tyler does bring attitude, toughness, some base skills that can help us in his reserve role. I also hope this is a prelude to a trade that would really surprise us/excite us, but I doubt there is any scenario where we pull that off. I would envision Tyler as that 5th big, the big energy, tough as*, iron man pest that makes an impact in practice and in short bursts during games. Hard to do that when you gotta get minutes for Cody AND Frank AND Messy Marv. Plus you know Hawes will get his minutes at the 5.

What is the better reserve pairing front court...Hawes and Frank, or Hawes and Tyler? I say the latter, as Hawes can range outside for shooting while T-Rex muscles down low for o-boards and garbage buckets. On D Hawes is decent at times in the post while Tyler can stay hang with most of the beefier 4's.

I think Frank is destined to be our starter. He showed well enough in SL that Cliff might swing those minutes to him, barring a trade. IF you can make a deal for Cody that really improves the team, this could be a next step.

He's not.

He's replacing Maxiell.

It's a nothing move. As others have said adding him won't greatly influence our seasons win/loss column at all.

Tyler is the guy you throw in a game in the 3rd quarter for about 5 minutes when the starters are sleepwalking on the 2nd night of a back to back, getting outworked and the team is on the verge of losing their grip on the game.
