After each game we will vote for the Hammer of the Game Awards (Hornets players only). The voting will be open for 24 hours after the end of each game. Fans from the opposing teams are encouraged to vote, just remember the vote is for the best Hornets.
Points
Gold Hammer (3) = best player of the game
Silver Hammer (2) = second best player of the game
Bronze Hammer (1) = third best player of the game
Player with the most points gets a gold hammer, player with the second most points get a silver hammer and the player with the third most points gets a bronze hammer. In the event of a tie, both players will be awarded the higher hammer for win and the lower hammer for losses. If two players tie for a bronze in a loss, only the gold and silver will be awarded (I just cant justify 4 hammers for a loss).
Gold Hammer = 3pts
Silver Hammer = 2pts
Bronze Hammer = 1pt
- Votes must be clear and follow the points listed above with 3 being the best (and so forth)
- Votes must have a best, second best and third best. If you do not list 3 players, your vote will not count. If you list more than 3 players, your vote will not count. If you list a tie, your vote will not count. Votes for anything other than our players will not count. Obvious joke votes will not count.

Looking at a lot of these names and one can see how pathetic this franchise has been,

Going to predict Jeremy Lin will break the total points record and the biggest difference between him and 2nd place.

On a serious note, I do hope the Lin fans will be as unbiased as possible for Hammer votes. Then again, if he plays anything like he did in preseason, he'll win in a landslide, biases or no biases.

The top 10 Hammer Seasons
1. Al Jefferson (13/14) - 136
2. Kemba Walker (12/13) - 135
3. Jason Richardson (07/08) - 123
4. Gerald Wallace (09/10) - 104
5. Kemba Walker (13/14) - 103
6. Gerald Wallace (06/07) - 102
7. Gerald Wallace (08/09) - 94
8. DJ Augustin (10/11) - 89
9. Raymond Felton (08/09) - 88
10. Emeka Okafor (07/08) - 86
I don't think that list does Wallace enough justice. He missed a lot of games during those years and still put up big Hammer numbers. He needs the Hammers/Game stat.

If not we can all just form an alliance to vote Roberts for gold hammer every game and crash the system.

any voting system is going to be useless when you have a larger group of lin fans here... I admit I am a lin fan, so I give up my right to vote to make the system fair.

I believe I'll do the same. There are probably going to be times even if I try to be completely fair that I will let my bias get to me. Then there are probably going to be times where I will vote for someone other than Lin because I feel like compensating for being biased. It'll be a mess.

Well, if the voting for Lin starts to become blatantly tainted as a result of biased Lin fans, we will reserve the right to only count votes from known, long time Hornets fans. I'd hate if it came to that, but its better than letting our sacred Hammers become a mockery. We'll cross that bridge when if that day comes. I'm holding out hope that everyone can put their biases aside for the sake of helping us document the season.

9. Ray Felton (08/09) - 1.07 (9.)
10. Emeka Okafor (07/08) - 1.05 (10.)
List adjusted for games played. 06/07 Crash takes a leap (played 72 games) that season, while the 09/10 Wallace dips by two places. Place in the ranking for total Hammers is in the brackets.
A factor that also comes into play is how good that particular team was though. It can be argued that the 09/10 Wallace had a lot more competition for his Hammers than the 12/13 Kemba.

09/10 Jax did have a career best season for us that year, highest ppg and rpg season for him.
Also Diaw being Diaw would always steal votes occasionally when he would wake up from his french wine coma and dominate a game.
Man I enjoyed that team, Larry Brown-Felton and all.
Apart from Pussy foot, he can still **** himself. He should have allowed us single coverage on Dwight
