I'm on the tank wagon.

Its pretty obvious this team needs more talent and since we are basically capped out the best way to get more talent is drafting it. Hopefully we actually get a good upside player this time

Regardless of how the season ends, would really, really like to find a way to snag one of these PGs.

Perhaps Frank Ntikilina for the French connection + double Frank along with Kaminsky?

I think this is who I want. Our best case scenario would be getting a stud PG/combo that has enough size to play with Kemba. Seems unlikely Monk would fall to us and that Fox kid can't shoot, so this dude seems like our best bet. If all the guards are gone we should just go BPA or maybe even trade back.

this is who all the mock drafts currently have CHA taking at 14. basically an nba 4, would think we have bigger needs elsewhere?

here's the kid Draft Express has us taking at #45 Kobi Simmons

Observatiom: Simmons seems like precisely the kind of player we never draft. Kind of a wild hair with mad upside. Some one or ones at the top of the personnel chain in CHA seems to always play it safe, whether drafting or trading, opting for the guy whose fundamental ability to play presents a clear role in the team vision. I hear Clifford say all the time, "I know what to expect when X is on the court." It's why I think Biz drove him nuts. Look at the Ivan Rabb video. It actually uses the phrase, "Knows who he is" at the end. He may be undersized to play the 5 in the NBA, but he can rebound and give some interior presence, and he knows who he is. Kobi Simmons? Who knows what he's capable of.

Isaac in the 1st round.
Gives us a complimentary scorer to Kemba and a great weak side shot blocker/defender.

Hart in the second round.
He's very, very Brogdon like.

Heard a stat a few days ago that Monk hadnt had a rebound his last 77 minutes of play. Even for a strictly perimeter player i find that concerning

In reality, I see our pick somewhere in the 13-18 range. I really like that Patton kid out of Creighton. I see a lot of potential in him and we could bring him along within our system. He'll be drafted somewhere in the 10-14 range I'm projecting.

Sounds a lot like the concerns people had with Booker after his one year at Kentucky.

But Monk doesn't shown the play making ability or intangibles that Booker did. Plus he's little.

He's more Ben Gordon than Booker IMO.

Lonzo Ball. If by the grace of the man above, if this kid falls to us, all can be forgiven. I just hope our FO doesn't drop the ball and take a PF........again.....for the 3rd time......

Ball (and his dad) seem like the type to play hardball with certain teams in order to try and influence where they are drafted.

If we were to miraculously get a top 6 or even 7 pick this franchise would have a massive decision to make. Fultz, Ball, Dennis Smith are all incredible PG prospects. Do you pass up on them like we did Drummond for a guy that then still couldnt catch a bounce pass? Do you draft Josh Jackson or Jayson Tatum when you have MKG who had the most improvement Clifford has ever seen in his life? (Lol, he will never live that one down).

I would say we could trade the pick for a very good not all star level player like we did with Jason Richardson, but we basically absorbed his contract, and Im fairly certain we cant do that now.

I just want a player to watch and see him progress that has severe upside. I had that with Biyombo once, after 3 years and struggling to catch a pass I gave up. Had that with MKG, he is what he is, hell if anything hes regressed. Hell, Cody Zeller may end up with more upside other than Kemba than any Rich Cho pick and that is truly pathetic.

Rant over. I feel better now.

Man, I want to let myself get excited about this draft, but I know we are going to do everything we can to sneak into the 8th seed and whatever we end up doing with that pick will be disappointing.

I mostly only care about the top PG prospects. If the team misses or makes the playoffs it doesn't matter much pick wise ... unless they beat the odds and get one of the top 3 picks.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Yea that's an important point. Would we even pick a top pg since we have Kemba ?

Having Cody didn't stop them from drafting Noah and then Frank.

Kemba and Cody aren't on the same level.

One is a lower level All-Star the other is a lower end starter / average starter.

If we pick a top pg, they will come after Kemba job. I doubt either will be a happy backup.

If the prospect has good size he could play alongside Kemba in certain lineups. Batum could move to the three. Anyway, I like Miles Bridges where we would pick as of now. I can't believe I'm saying this as a Duke fan but Justin Jackson wouldn't be bad either if we pick somewhere 11-14ish.

Any PG we draft will likely take at least three years to have any chance of competing for Kembas job and if its someone with the size to play with Kemba they can always start together. Thats why i really like that Frank dude from France. If hes a stud he can just take Batums starting spot and in the meantime wed finally have a good backup PG . I wouldnt hesitate to take a PG if they are BPA.
