Well that obviously isn't true. Charlotte's growth is HEAVILY influenced by the banking sector. They were briefly a huge player.

Do you live in Charlotte? I'm pretty aware of the state of Charlotte's economy, as most who live here are. Talking about what happened in the banking world 8 years ago feels like you are operating on some dated info.

It is very safe to say that Charlotte has bounced back and become more diversified, as evidenced by the articles I posted.

But charlotte has no quick path to being a financial hub.

No one cares about 4% population growth. That isn't gonna compete with silicon Valley, states with tax loopholes, etc.

Jordan is rich. And he's one of the more fiery competitors ever. And He is getting really old.

Does he want to build a winner or not?

Saying we had the 11th largest payroll is somewhat misleading because of the huge cap jump and our roster free agent siruation.

We're unlikely to be in the top half after this offseason.

The cheap hawes/Bellinelli deals and hibbert/Sessions expiring deals were an opportunity for us to consolidate and bring in an expensive addition.

Instead we got miles plumlee? So we still spent money to get a marginal talent instead of slightly more for legitimate talent. Just seemed strange in the context of everything

Wait, since when did 54 (MJ's age) become really old?

Just wanted to address that gem, but you should know literally nothing else you're saying makes any sense whatsoever.

Yeah, he won't even shell out the money to keep Tyler Hansbrough.

This whole argument seems way off base. Anytime we wanted to retain a player the hornets have done so, you can't be cheap with players you never had.
It seems weird to argue that the 10th fastest growing city in the us is not what it use to be.

Well it isn't.

I'm just wondering if his competitive fire will ever catch up to his business mentality of needing to turn a profit.

He's got the means to spend money if he chooses to.

And 55 for a 6'6 African American is pretty darn old. As a race they don't live as long as most others and tall people are at high risk for early deaths as well

"Charlotte, N.C., is more often associated with banks than bots. Yet from 2006 to 2016, tech businesses in the Queen City expanded their job count by 62%, with 18% growth from 2014-16, the fastest clip in the nation."

The answer is YES! Jordan finally stopped being cheap.

The great news is we still got room to improve with the MLE or make a consolidation move at the deadline packaging this year rookie, next year 1st, and frank or mkg to get better

The Hornets are cheap storyline has always been over blown. The Hornets have always pursued free agents such as when they signed restricted free agents Anderson Varejuo and Gordon Haywood, but their teams matched the salaries. Then we signed Big Al when he wanted to sign here. That is the key. Free Agents have to want to sign here. We can't hog tie them and put a pen in their hands.

Am I the only one that reads this as "Will Jordan ever stop crying?" when quickly skimming the threads?
