I'll second that. I'm a Bulls fan and our board is busy as hell every day, so adding the #1 pick discussion to that is going to cause chaos.

If everyone had photoshop, there would be no need to ask people to make icons for them. But I'm almost positive the siggy size was reverted.

ETA: looks like it was.

Will this help with the crashing? We know how last year went.

Can we just get rid of signatures permanently. Sometimes I don't have the time to take the few minutes to log in, and just want to read a few posts.

So I see the same inane signatures, that make it impossible to read a thread. All they do is distract the reader.

Get rid of them for good.

Aren't people hosting their signatures on other servers? How do they affect the realgm servers when they're being hosted elsewhere?

... which doesn't actually solve the problem in question. Read the bolded part again.

IMO, boards full of sigs with giant images and quotes look extremely unprofessional and are much harder to read. Compare these forums to, say, the forums at ArsTechnica. Simple, clean, and effective. Avatars are more than enough "look at me, I'm special!" space.

But, I enjoy Avatars and Sigs, since its how I identify some posters.

If you don't like the board and the way it's set up, no one is forcing you to post here. Plain and simple.

A 400*90 signature isn't too much, just disable them if you don't like them dude. Good call doing this temporarily to save bandwidth, I actually just noticed the ability to post images was off and the sigs were off and I automatically assumed bandwidth saving for the draft even though I hadn't seen the thread.

How are people going to know that one or more squirrels went on a rampage yesterday if I dont have my sig.

Travesty.

At work I disable sigs and avatars so I generally keep it off. But during the school year I sometimes turn them on because it makes users easier to identify.

The only problem I have with the board right now is the gigantic thrad name at the top of every post. Why can't we tone down the font size/color on this? It used to be size 6 or 8 or something. Now its obnoxious. If I want to go to the beginning of the thread I can scroll to the top or bottom of the page.
