Hey guys, just a thought. If you could change the Redeem Team's roster, who would you add/remove. Don't get me wrong, I think they are doing ridicuously well, and that's actually reflected in the minor nature of the roster tweaking I would do.

Replace Kidd with Baron Davis. I know Kidd is there to create shots, and play D, but Paul and Williams can do that just fine. I'd rather see Baron as a third point behind those guys.

Replace Redd with Shane Battier. Redd is there to be a three point specialist and nothing more. Having a star buried that deep in the roster is a little overkill. Battier can knock down the three with the best of them, adds another tremendous perimeter defender to the roster, and is a cereberal player who's knowledge of the game helps other players.

Replace Boozer with Tim Duncan. Boozer has been a bit soft in his limited minutes, opting for lay-ups (some of which he has missed) instead of taking open dunks, and sometimes not even putting a hand up on defense. Our interior defense has been a little weak (even with Dwight on the floor) and seems to rely on thousands of steals preventing the ball from ever getting inside. I know Duncan is a little old and might not be able to run with the rest of the U.S. team on a fast break, but I'm talking about using him as the 3rd big man on a team that only puts one big man on the floor at a time (and that works well in international ball). I think Duncan would be the steadying presence that Kidd was intended to be, but at a position the team needs it at more. If not Duncan, I would go for Camby.

Paul/Williams/Davis
Bryant/Wade/Carter
James/Anthony/Johnson
Garnett/Duncan/Bosh
Howard/Chandler/Camby

I would have added Pierce to the final 3 spot; but that would just be overkill to put the Greatest In The World with all those superstars.

But he's the Greatest In The World! How could you not?

Even if he gets injured; it doesn't matter. He'd return within seconds to put us ahead with back to back threes!

Anyone been watching Girls Gymnastics? I'll admit, I wasn't a fan prior to the Olymics, but Nastia Liukin has done awesome. She's been ripped of the gold medal twice due to bogus scoring. They need to come up with a better system for tiebreakers. I don't see why they can't hand out two of the same medal in case of a tie? Swimming does it.

Some people who are chosen to judge gymnastic events are not as experienced...it's just not right. Don't get me wrong, China has very capable, athletic gymnasts. But the judges on two separate occasions rewarded them higher scores when their routines were filled with falls or other mistakes, while the US girls were sometimes flawless with their routines and ended up with lower scores. It's a shame. We should have 2 more gold medals for our country's total.

Glad to see Shawn Johnson earn a gold medal and Nastia get silver for the balance beam last night too.

I've been reading about the judging, and I think it's been applied fairly. The chinese mostly won by much higher difficulty bonus score, and the fact that judges don't take much off for mistakes in women's (even total fail on women will get you 8.0 execution, big mistake gets you 8.5). It was the opposite in 2004 Olympics, the judges took off lots for small mistakes and easier clean routines won over much harder slightly imperfect ones. The gymnastics judges where pretty consistent according to current gymnastic scoring rules (IMO they did fairest job of all judged events).

The gymnast federation has said they will look at adjust the scoring rules so big mistakes are penalized more, next time around.

Did Bolt run all the way through in the 200m?

I wish he would finish a race especially in the finals...I could see letting up in the prelims but run the finals and destroy the field/records. In the 100 he let up with like 20m to go...

Wow that was a sick run in the 200...he ran it full tilt the entire run...facing a slight head wind makes the record even more sick. 6'5" wonder if he can catch a football?

Once again another US Boxer got robbed!

That Andrae kid got hosed. He connected on alot more punches then that Korea dude. That is why you hate Olympic boxing!

A travesty. No way that Korean beat him by two! If anything it would have been a mockery if it was a tie much less a two point loss!

Has anyone else noticed that China's players and teams seem to be getting favorable treatment? When an American gymnast and a Chinese gymnast had an exact tie on an event the Chinese gymnast got 1st. They said there was a "built in tiebreaker"....not buying it. Also, in womens beach volleyball the China team was ranked #1 in the tournament, but they are ranked #2 in the world behind Team USA....who ironically enough got the #2 seed in the tournament. Just a few observations......
