I wish somebody would make a website dedicated to NBA uniforms along the lines of the Dressed to the Nines website for MLB or the Gridiron Uniform Database for NFL. Maybe there are too many NBA alternates for it to ever be complete, but I'd love to see it.
Some of these uniforms slipped under my radar. For instance, did the Blazers really wear those Rip City jerseys in a game? Never saw them. What about those Hornets argyle uniforms? Did they really wear those? WTF?
Here's my favorites by team:
-I love the Cavs alternate that they wore in the 2010 playoffs. Wine and gold with the 1980s script.
-I agree with gogoceltics that the lime green 1970s Hawks jerseys were nice.
-Boston's regular greens are classic.
-Original Charlotte Hornets uniforms were awesome. I liked the purple alternates too.
- All of the Bobcats jerseys have sucked.
- Early 1980s Bulls reds with cursive script.
- Sorry, but I've never liked any of the Mavericks jerseys. Guess I'll go with the green alternates with the pseudo-70s script that they wore in the late 2000's. Do they still wear those?
- I like the Denver powder blues. Didn't like the 1980s skyline jerseys.
- Pistons, you have to go back to the 1960s Dave Bing jerseys. Classic.
- For GS, I actually like the early 1990s Chris Mullin jerseys. The white ones were pretty slick.
- For the Rockets, i actually like the understated reds from the early 1970s. Everything after that was too busy.
- For Indiana, it has to be the early 2000s pinstripes.
- For the Clippers, I have to go with the late 1970s Bill Walton powder blue underwear-style tank tops. Damn things were so tight.
- For the Lakers, I'm going with the 1970s Karrem style before they added all the fancy piping.
- For Miami, I have to go with the original white 1988 home jerseys. Downhill since.
- For the Bucks, I'm going with the 1980s Sidney Moncrief greens with the mascot on the shorts. I actually also like the current red alternates.
- All of the Wolves uniforms have sucked. So, for them, I'm going with the 1959 Minneapolis Lakers roads. Close enough.
- For the Nets, I'm seriously going with the early 1990s tie-died powder blues. Under rated, I think. I also liked the late 1990s grey alternates. Their regular navy blues actually aren't too bad either.
- For the Knicks, go with the classic early 1970s blues.
- For Orlando, I loved the original blacks.
- For Philly, it's the 1970s blues or the 1980s reds. Classic.
- For Phoenix, it's the original purples that they wore into the early 1990s. With the bursting sun.
- For Portland, I like the vertical script red road jerseys. You guys know the one I'm talking about?
- I really like the Kings' current purples. If you see those things live, they're really nice.
- I like the old-school San Antonio silver jerseys. I also like the 1980s black roads that said San Antonio across the chest, not the current ones that say Spurs.
- For Seattle, I like the 1970s/1980s Jack Sikma home whites. Didn't like the mid-1990s Payton/Kemp green/red unis.
- Has OKC worn anything but their regular jerseys? Those are ok.
- For Toronto, I liked the early 2000s purple road jerseys with the black backs. Thought those were cool.
- For Utah, I like the current greens. They remind me of the late 1970s/early 1980s greens, which were cool. Hated the 1997/1998 mountain scape jerseys. It's a shame they wore those things in the Finals.
- For Memphis, I kind of like the recent powder blue alternates. Do they still wear those?
- For the Bullets/Wizards, I have to go with the early 1970s orange jerseys (which I think they actually wore at home, right?). I also like the mid-1990s Chris Webber/George Muresan reds, which were the first jerseys they wore after moving away from the horizontal stripes.
