Why do NBA players shave their armpits?

If you're a ball player, I guess you tend to sweat a lot.

Hair follicles can retain odour and sweat more ... not a good look if you're conscious about the smell.

Shaving ur nutsack and pubes is different though. Nobody likes hair in they mouth, nah mean?

as someone who has actually shaven their pits, i can tell you the lack of friction is unbearable. lifting weights or playing basketball after shaving your underarms will cause serious chaffing and friction, it's very tough to ignore and the sweat just pours like a faucet.
