So the Knicks gave away their draft picks...

Post#1 » by cs hauser » Thu Jul 8, 2010 10:39 pm

While the Knicks were clearing their salary cap for the 2010 LeBron sweepstakes... they gave away the 8th pick of last year's draft (Jordan Hill), a 2012 first round pick, and a swap of 2011 first round picks to the Houston Rockets. All the Knicks got out of it was salary cap room. :o

It is looking more and more like the most ridiculous trade of the year. The way the Knicks look now... there's a real possibility it will be a Top-5 pick. The Rockets made out like bandits on that one.

It's actually worse than that...

@sportsguy33: Knicks will have given up top-10 lottery picks in 2004, 06, 07, 09, 10, potentially 11 and 12 w/ no playoffs

Is Amare even better than ZBo or DLee?

Didn't they also give away their 2010 first round unprotected (yes, unprotected) pick to Utah?

Kinda. They gave it to Phoenix in the Marbury deal, and Phoenix moved it to Utah in the Keon Clark/Ben Handlotion salary dump.

Yes, but in the past they traded away draft picks for actual players to wear the Knicks jersey. This time, they spent all their draft picks for... what? Not even players. They got nothing in return at all.

The Knicks never plan ahead... I feel bad for their fans to be honest.

If the Knicks only ended up with one max, it was a terrible trade for them. They could've signed Amare without moving Jeffries, Hill and the two picks.

That was year's ago to PHX like somebody else said. That was under Scott Layden (I believe) before Thomas went to the Knicks and before LeBron was in high school.

The biggest insult that could have possibly been added to this Knicks disaster of an offseason would be if Jared Jeffries opted out of his contract with the Rockets lol.

Getting Anthony Randolph makes up for all of it.
