It's a bit ridiculous that people act like there's a million things other stars are doing Durant isn't
The only thing he's not comparable in to other greats is passing ability, it's important but it's one thing
Don't pretend like Durant is Jamal Crawford

"10 best NBA players in order 2010-2011 season"
Every single player on a roster has the exact same stats right now. So they are all tied.

The only top players capable of improving in 2010-2011 is Durant, Paul, and Howard. Wade isn't getting any better, Lebron has plateaued, and Kobe has no where to go but down.

Duncan's better than Pau no question about it.

Gasol, Dirk, Garnett, Rondo round out the next 4.
LOL wtf Durant at no.10?
Atm I personally think Kobe, LBJ, Wade are 1-3 with Durant a very close 4th, followed by D12 also very closely at no.5
And I don't get it - literally everyone lists Kobe in the top 5 but Pau is supported by many as the real Lakers MVP and best player

Yes. People who only look at stats think Duncan's declined but that has more to do with the Spurs having 5 players who could go off at any time. There isn't one thing Pau does better in except for maybe shooting.

Yea I guess you are probably right I only watched about 6 Spurs games last year but from what I saw he lost a few steps but still had his moves, his dominance wasn't there anymore from what I seen too tho.

How about passing and running the break?
Not saying Duncan gone bad but I think Pau caught up with pretty much everyone last 2 seasons,
his game is excellent atm.
10 best hard to say now who will become better or get worse or get injured but including every aspect I guess
- Kobe
- Lebron
- Durant
- Wade
- Paul
- Anthony
- Gasol
- Nowiztki
- Howard
- Williams
Yao would be on my list but there's a big chance he won't be 100%

In the last 2 years the Magic have made it to the Finals and ECF, that's how. That's a lot more than a first round exit in my book.

i think its that most people are looking for consistency, they want to see him do it again before they place him amongst the top 5.

There's A LOT more to the game of basketball than just shooting. Plus, he actually can shoot okay and is improving, he just doesn't make many attempts in the game other than FT. Can't wait to see what post moves he'll be bringing into the season after working w/ "The Dream". He's poised to explode in the next 1-3 years.

I see what you're saying, but if that's the case, then no one would ever be able to accurately predict the top players, eventually the top has to change.

At the top, unless the 2010-2011 season already happened...
Yeah, I hate it when people come into threads and tell the OP what the thread is about. Anyways, overall I can not find fault with your rankings, and agree with most of them.
When did I tell him what the thread was about? Clearly this can be interpreted in the way that I did - top 10 players going into the 2010-2011 season. How the hell should I know that we were talking about the completion of the season. Oh, and I still think that anyone that thinks Tyreke Evans will be a top 14 player at the end of the season is smoking something harsh.

I don't doubt that there are some people who actually have concerns about Durant not being able to repeat his performance/improve in the playoffs, but I think a larger part of it is media backlash.
People don't like agreeing with the media unless it's their player. OKC/Durant fans love that he's the media's new darling, but any other Top-10 player's fan probably isn't too thrilled. Whoever the media likes, a lot of people are going to dislike, simply because it's not their player.
Obviously anyone putting Durant in the Top 3 is overrating him, but people putting him in the 8-10 range aren't doing him justice either.
