As other people have pointed out, there have been many variations of the Swastika symbol through history. The one employed by the Nazis, for example, was actually a Buddhist religious symbol.

It's a hilarious but presumably innocent oversight, but seriously, how many people saw that tie and didn't say anything. Boss or not, the first thing I'd probably say is "Are those swastikas on your tie?" Really funny as the ever image conscious Stern fashion polices the league.

To everyone saying it meant something a thousand years ago in this culture or what not to 99.9% of people these days its related to nazi imagery. So no he was not thinking about its ancient hindu relation when buying it.

it was already used in other ancient, seperate cultures before egypt. i read a theory of someones once that this is because it is a simple geometric design that repeats itself and crops up when weaving baskets, and basket weaving is one of the first things a civilization learns how to do. makes sense.

the nazis used it because it is an ancient symbol for the sun that was also used by the romans (i think). hitler and his buddies thought they were building the next roman empire, they called it the third reich and referred to ancient rome as the first reich. they used loads of their symbols and held huge parades with banners and whatnot just like the romans.

byron scott is using it here to show his german nazi heritage. i read a theory of someones once that his real name is baron von schcottenheimer.
