hmmm.. I think Orlando should have traded Jameer instead of Vince/Gortat.. but we'll see what they get for them... If I had to guess I'd say they are going to the Bobcats

I haven't watched ARenas much this year, but are you saying he's just getting repeatedly hacked with no fouls called?

And what exactly is the "Allen Iverson treatment"? Iverson averaged 8.9 FTA/game in his NBA career. So it's not like he didn't get calls.

sort of. he attacks and draws contact but 9 time out of 10 its a no call which results in a turnover or a missed fga. i mean the stats are all there to prove this. from a guy who used to average 9fta per game, hes down to 3. hes now on a string of 3 straight games where has has gone to the line ZERO times. hes in the bottom of hte list for starting guards in fta per game and even on the defensive end hes averaging 3.5 fpg! only one other guard is in the top 25 for fpg. even our broadcasters repeatedly bring it up and they are known to call the game without any favoritism.

its a reference to wat tim donaghy used to call the ai treatment where he said refs would make it a point of emphasis to not call fouls in favor or ai, late in his career.

Nah... at least Nelson can deliver deep in the playoffs every once in a while. Carter has an annoying consistent tendency to disappear... Arenas is untested in that area, we'll see what he does. I wish Gortat weren't involved, though.

u obviously have never seen gil in the playoffs. :D i dont know about now, but when gil battled lebron head to head, gil was putting up ridiculous numbers and hit a few HUGE shots. also had a huge serious against chicago where he hit the game winner and brought the wiz back to win the serious when they were down 2 games to 0. holy sh*t its a sad day to be a wizards fan

touche, but i think when the playoffs start, u will be surprised to see how fierce of a competitor he can still be... but i guess only time will tell... one thing i know for sure, gil loves ballin, and has ridiculously intense work ethic.

We aren't surprised by our guards not getting calls. Ask any Magic fan, Vince got shafted many times on drives. Especially in the playoffs vs Boston.

I should also add that I really like a Gil for Shard swap from Washington's standpoint as that team desperately needs a 3. Nick Young continues to prove himself as a legit offensive threat and I think he'd easily be able to step in for Arenas. Meanwhile the Wizards can move Hinrich to the bench behind Wall and Young and actually start a legit SF at the 3 spot in Lewis while Howard collects his paycheck from the bench. Yeah they take on Shard's money but amazingly enough they only have to pay him for three years (two and a half if they buy him out) as opposed to four for Gilbert. This is a no-brainer if you're Washington.

I'm surprised you think so highly of Shard. Most Magic fans feel he's done. But I have always commented on my frustration with how Stan has made him into a spot up jump shooter

I just dont think it will be ideal for Orlando to have a backcourt of Nelson and Arenas.... And I think Nelson is somewhat wasted if you decide to bring him off the bench... Arenas as full time PG would be better, but thats just my opinion

According to that post (citing Hoopsworld, admittedly), it's Lewis for Arenas, and the Magic are also looking to package Vince's pseudo-expiring with Gortat for another upgrade elsewhere.

Going to be an interesting weekend one way or another, even if it just turns out to be rumours.

Wow do you people know how bad Arenas contract is? Lewis's contract is ok compared to Arenas's. If they do this Howard will leave, not might will leave.

EPIC

I'd pay money to be a fly on that wall.

To those of you asking why would WAS trade Gil for Rashard, Rashard's contract is a year shorter. Also, he's probably fit in a little better with Wall.

He actually does pretty decent at SF, but don't expect him to defend well. But he's still clutch as hell, so that's a bonus, I guess.

Truthfully, if the rumors are true, I'm gonna miss the guy. He's one of my favorite players (even though he's been slumping/declining).

Okay if it is Vince for Arenas - the Wizards are highway robbers. Lewis for Arenas is much more fair value considering the financial impact of both their contracts. You don't just trade an expiring for a bad contract.

Jameer Nelson is so underrated.

Arenas would be a good fit with Howard though.
