I dont see how that video has anything to do with Mormons.

Utah likes the Jazz, the Jazz play in Utah.

Utah doesnt exactly hate Carmello but his fan club is not massive I assume. Irony.

Utah however hates Jordan.

Jordan is affiliated with Carmello.

"This Ad is sponsered by JORDAN"

Its a jab, some sarcasim...for the purpose ?? Hmm, generally things like these are made in such a way to leave it up for interpitation.

BTW it wasnt a push off, Bryon Russell was already moving to his left, all Jordan had to do was stop and shoot.

I think a lot of fans accept this (or the fact that it wasn't a blatant enough call to be made at the end of the game). Most of the resentment of the officiating that game was due to two blown 24-second violation calls that resulted in a 5-point swing. Not that any of it matters anymore, and mostly I'm just happy that those kinds of plays can be reviewed on replay nowadays :)

I think the mormon theories are reaching quite a bit. I like the idea of using commercials to talk some smack and get the fans more excited for a playoff series but I wish it didn't start with Melo's people of Utah. I **** hate that guy.

Hell it looks like something that someone on RealGM could put together.

Who the **** is able to waste that kind of money for a small laugh though? Is it really Jordan? **** rich ****.

And here you are discussing it on the internet, viewing it (at no expense to them) on youtube, etc. It has people on the interwebs discussing it and Carmelo Anthony. It expands Carmelo's brand. It plays a few times on TV, where they actually have to put in an ad buy, then everybody watches it on the internet at no additional cost to them. You know, exactly what you want from a commercial like that.

Hey business guy, people watching commercials are only a good investement if they are trying to sell something. So I'm watching and discussing a joke commercial about Utah fans at no additional cost to the creators and that's great for them because they are selling...... nothing.

Carmelo's brand is risen our hurt by success in the playoffs. This commercial is not going to raise awareness of Melo nor are people going to say "hey he couldn't do **** against LA in 08 even though against the same team Pierce dominated later in the playoffs; but some rich guy made a commercial using his face to kind a poke fun at Utah fans so that is a good counter point to his lack of success."

This rich **** wasting millions for a sligh "eh" commercial isn't affecting Melo's brand in the slightest. And if he was, he would have to pay Melo for using a cardboard cutout of his face as well as clear it with Melo's lawyers before he could use Melo's face... but he isn't... because it's an irrelevant commercial beyond a play thing someone decided to waste millions on.

"You like it, think it's funny?"

That was Carmelo Anthony's first question when the topic of his TV ad came up.

The Nuggets star teamed up with Nike's Jordan Brand to air a creative albeit confusing commercial, which has aired during the Denver-Utah series. It is like a political ad, promoting the greatness of one Carmelo Kiyan Anthony — the catch is, it's seemingly sponsored by "the fans of Carmelo Anthony in Utah."

Denver's all-star forward talked about the ad Wednesday. Asked about its purpose, Melo said: "To make it seem like all the fans in Utah are rooting for me. It's just stirring some stuff up. If we had played Phoenix, it would be the same thing."

Turns out the ad was made to rile the fans.
