He is by far the worst. He turned the league into a pure business league and star driven league.

Baseball might be a sport but poker and chess are more entertaining to watch.

And I love how all that people like to say on here is how great Stern is because he markets the hell out of the league. Who gives a sh*t?! Games and tradition have gone downhill in entertainment exponentially and unless you're a Kobe, Lebron, or Dwight Howard buttboy, the playoffs are probably less desired than a woman's ping pong rec league.

The NFL has turned into a fake hype machine more than a sport. Is Roger Goodell a bad commissioner?(He is, but this is not the main reason)

Not sure if we can say he's bad or good, he's a money making genious that's what he is. Ever since he was commish in the 80's I heard back than they used to tape finals game and not even show them live and NBA fans were just in a few select cities. Now days most teams televise all 82 games and you have NBA fans in every single country.

I gotta say what he just did a few days ago was genious with Stern giving Sarver permission to speak out about the immigration bill, Al Sharpton marching down Jefferson street with a "Los Suns" jersey was probably on newscasts and papers across the globe and now might attract millions of NBA fans across the globe who were against this hateful bill. No other sportsleague spoke out against that but the NBA did and that's going to definately get them some fans.

I wouldn't say hes the worst but I also wouldn't say the ref issue is the only gripe about him.

Like others have said the league has become really star driven and emphasis has been taken off of teams. Theres pretty much no rivalries anymore. I think ESPN is 50% of the problem the NBA is the other 50%.

I also disagree with the CBA being good. I think its absolutely terrible. It's idiotic that players have basically ZERO obligation to be in top form for their teams. Once they get that contract signed they got their money. Having players like the great Eddie Curry taking up 10 million dollars and coming in out of shape and unable to play for multiple years is an embarrassment. It's also cheating out of the fans. Players in the NBA are way to pampered.

I also don't like how he is treating free agency. Hes basically encouraging teams to tank to get a good draft pick to get good.

No, it's actually the contrary. While the reffing is a legitimate gripe, taking into account everything he's done in his tenure, he's actually one of the best. If you were born after 1995 or didn't really start following the NBA after 2000, then you probably don't have enough perspective to appreciate Stern's impact on the NBA.

Stern may not be popular right now among many fans due to poor officiating and fining players for silly comments, but he has been great for the NBA. There's a reason he has been commisioner for over 25 years.

Worst commish for me is Selig with Gary Bettman not far behind.
