Wow Jeff Bower does not flat out say no on CP3 deal.

Post#1 » by king a » Tue Jun 22, 2010 7:30 pm

Per Twitter:
FletcherMackel

Buckle up Hornets fans. GM Jeff Bower was just repeatedly asked if CP3 will be traded. His answer "its our job to field call on all players"

If Bower couldn't say no, he is definitely kicking the idea around pretty good.

As a CP3 fan i hope so. His prime is being wasted on a team that's regressed for 3 straight years.

This mean's absolutely nothing. A GM's job is to not only field calls on all players but also to create smoke and mirrors.

All it means is that if a good enough deal came around they would probably pull the trigger. I still don't think they're actively shopping him but they're obviously willing to listen to offers. The Hornets are a team that's strapped for cash and no immediate future. Unless they start turning it around soon, they'll eventually have to trade Paul because he'll leave.

Bynum for Paul.

But seriously I hope CP3 does get traded, as someone said his prime is being wasted with a franchise that's not interested in investing to win immediately. In regards to the city of NO, it's a shame Chris Paul has done more than most for that city and they really love him there.
Thank you, Phil.

Why not trade Billups and JR smith for CP3?

ESPN said their owner might trade CP3 to save money, since Collison was playing so well last year, averaging 17/7 in place of CP3.

They said if a team with cap space (NYK?) traded for CP3 it will definitely increase their chance to sign LeBron. But I don't think CP3 will play well with LeBron, both need ball in their hands.

There was a rumor started on the Portland board that Portland was in deep talks for him, but they decided to hold on and see if anyone ups the ante
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Trade him to the Magic, although whatever trade that may happen will be a robbery in the Magic's favor :D

CP3 and Dwight on the same team :droop:

Paul/Lebron pick and roll could be godly

Lebron can hit the jumper, drive as effectively as anyone in the league, and has the passing ability to hit the open man rotating from the corner

Since when can LeBron hit a jumper?

LeBron's midrange J has improved, but he isn't a pick & pop shooter. And LeBron definitely can't shoot the 3 consistently.

Could it be done, should it, would it.

I thought all this "Hornets screw team/fans to save cash" stuff was supposed to be over? Chouest bought the team, he's a billionaire and a New Orleans native, wasn't he supposed to be a guy who was cool with spending money to improve the team?

They've got an absolutely elite PG (Paul), a nice off the ball scorer (Thornton), and 2 nice bigs (West and Okafor), that's an excellent core to build around. Not only that, but they have some GREAT trade pieces to fill out the team - MASSIVE expiring contracts (Peja, Mo Pete, etc.), a top young PG in Collison, and the 11th overall pick. JUST COMMIT TO WINNING AND YOU CAN BUILD A VERY, VERY GOOD TEAM!

What SUPERSTAR in this league shoots the 3 consistently?

Not LeBron, not Wade, and not Kobe...

Maybe Durant

Kind of a funny question to ask in a thread about CP3 . . .

You don't "smoke and mirror" your franchise player.
