its Chicago and NY that humor me. Guy goes from savior to a role player in less than a day. Both those teams took the same risk Miami did, and came up short, even though both improved their teams incredibly. The cap experiment worked out for the most part, as NY, Chicago, and Miami all came up with big signings

Anyway, I always stuck up for Lebron in the Lebron Kobe nonsense. I also fail to see how he quit in a series where he got 27, 19, and 10 in the final game. Dude could play. Overconfident and brash, but he has the skills.

Not really. The Heat had only ONE player on their roster before those signings. That's why some people think that Riley definitely knew something that other teams didn't. Chicago and NY didn't gut their roster to THAT extent.

My opinion of him changed just a little because he took less money and seems as though he's willing to sacrifice his ego for a championship. I don't care what coming to the Heat has done for Lebron's legacy or his chances to be GOAT. It really doesn't bother me that Kobe fans are saying he's a sidekick.

What does bother me though is the hate directed at the Heat cause of sour grapes from fan bases that didn't get him and people jealous/scared of a potential dynasty. I also don't think people should be saying he's not competitive cause he's put a lot on the line to win a championship. That's what I'm defending.

This.

That doesn't look like he was touting LeBron as GOAT, or even really backing him up. The haters have their rose-tinted glasses on.

Not sure who that is directed to but I am agreeing with him.

It's the only way they can justify their bitterness. They didn't hear their team's name called, so the Decision was obviously a bad idea.

I'm a Knicks fan and the first to admit that I'm disappointed we didn't get him. Of all the options, I am surprised he made the choice he did. I totally agree that he could have gone anywhere and should not be subject to anyone's opinion but his own.

I'm upset because its bad for the league as a whole and the TV special was f*kking stupid. He acted like a douche. I didn't like it. I wish him failure. I think I am entitled to that opinion.

shaqfan1 wrote:That sort of behavior would have been tolerable if he had joined their teams. But now that he has rejected their teams, its apparently the main reason for their hate.

Cavs fans are the only fan base that have a legitimate reason to hate Lebron. The rest of the fan bases that claim to feel sorry for Cavs fans in order to justify their hate for Lebron were rooting for Lebron to let the Cavs fans down on national TV and announce their team's name. It didn't happen, so poor Cavs fans. I can't believe what that horrible Lebron did to them.

Lebron isn't obligated to go anywhere and that's exactly what this argument does. You aren't the judge of what is "truly special" and what isn't. Maybe winning a championship with his friends is "truly special" to Lebron, more "truly specialer" than resurrecting the Knicks or following in Jordan's footsteps. Despite the fact that Lebron joined Wade and Bosh, most people still don't consider the Heat the favorite to win the championship next season. Most people still put at least the Lakers above them. So how exactly is joining a team that's not the favorite to win the championship considered an act of cowardice and non-competitiveness?

Disagree that I would have liked that TV special had he gone to the Knicks. I thought a lot less of him after it was announced that it was happening.

I feel sorry for Cabs fans... and NBA fans as a whole. Why do you assume some other motive. or that its an excuse?

Good point, I'm not the judge of what is truly special to Lebron. You're right. But, when you're The King, I guess I just expect more... I don't know... "greatness". My bad for having expectations.

z_from_kc wrote:This is hillarious, LeBron a SIDEKICK????? We can all agree LeBron is better than Wade right? So how the hell is he going to be a sidekick? Kobe was considered a sidekick back then because Shaq was obviuously the best player on the Laker Dynasty. Up until a week ago LeBron was obviously better than Wade in the eyes of 90% of mankind. Now they team up and LeBron is suddenly inferior to Wade and will be Wade's "bitch". Just because Wade was there first doesn't change the fact that LeBron will be the man in Miami. The actual play on the court will determine this.
