Re: How long will it take for John Wall to become the best PG?
By his third year we'll know exactly what kind of player he's going to be but becoming the best at his position ? That is not guaranteed. He has to prove himself all over again. Being the new guy doesn't mean he's going to be better than guys already there. And from watching him play I get the feeling he's going to come right in and shoot some terrible percentage like Westbrook did two years ago. I liked Derrick Rose approach to the game alot more and he's just as good or better athlete than Wall is.
Plus you got guys like Paul & Nash who are going to dominate their position statistically. Deron Williams, Rondo and the rest.

Once his jumper from 15-20 feet is effective he will be the best pg in basketball. He is like Rose on steroids which is very very scary.

Rose on steroids would be Dwyane Wade. Is Wall that ? Nothing in this game is guaranteed.
Back to Rose, he is already stronger, faster, better finisher than anybody at his position and to top it off he has a shoot selection. Wall might be little bigger but plays too wild. He could lead NBA in turnovers. The upside/potential is obviously there though and it will be fun to watch him, can't wait.

This. And what to speak of being better than Williams/Paul...

Rose on steroids? Rose has like 15 pounds of muscle on him

I think it's safe to say Rose is bigger/stronger.

By Wall's 4th season Nash will be washed up.
As for the rest of your post, I actually agree with the part about him coming in and shooting a low percentage. Happens to a lot of rookies who end up become pretty damn good players. LeBron is probably the best example. I think in time Wall will become more efficient. Right now I think he's too fast for his own good if that makes any sense. Once he learns to harness that speed at an NBA level and develops a more consistent jumper I feel the sky is the limit for him.

Of course Rose is better now. But he's certainly not faster than Wall. No chance in hell.
Rose is a damn good player in his own right, and could be the best PG in the league soon enough. I see a Wall vs. Rose debate heating up in the next 3-4 years.

After 3 seasons still a best PG will be Chris Paul. (If healthy) And don't forget about Deron/Rondo/Rose.

What makes you think that? Rose ran faster in their respective pre-draft measurements, and he's even faster with the ball in his hands. I don't see how Wall is clearly faster, at best it's a wash..

It's a PG heavy league now. I realize that. But look at how quickly Rose and Rondo have injected themselves into the conversation. Look at how quickly Paul and Williams injected themselves into the conversation. Saying that after his third season people will be looking at Wall and calling him the best PG is not as farfetched as it may sound.

Re: How long will it take for John Wall to become the best PG?
Chris Paul and Deron Williams are respectively, only 25 and 26 years old. They are both, at the moment, the two best PG's in the league and until John Wall actually plays a game, there's no point arguing about it.
Wall might have all the potential in the world, but lets face it; for a majority of his career, he'll be playing against some of the best all time PG in an era that's pretty much saturated with star level guards.
