Warriors sale in limbo

Post#1 » by Nuck Chorris » Fri Jul 30, 2010 7:23 am

With the bidding process over Joe Lacob and Peter Guber are poised to purchase the Warriors with a yet to be finalized ownership group of approximately 12-15 investors.

So now the Warriors and Lacob-Guber are in limbo until the sale is approved, the ownership group finalized and all dozen or so owners cleared by the league.

The awkward part is that the Warriors and the "new owners" are having a public honeymoon of sorts.

Now **WHAT IF** the sale wasn't going as planned, and the deal fell through? Would ownership be legally bound to sell to the second highest bidder (actually Ellison offered more)? Especially if the original ownership had marketed sales on the notion of new ownership. Also wouldn't the price have to drop if the winner of the process is invalidated?

Also this is nothing against Lacob-Guber. They seem like interesting people. Let's just say **what if**.
