Knicks sign Roger Mason Jr; 1-year, $1.4 million

Post#1 » by Childs2Dudley » Thu Aug 5, 2010 8:45 pm

Knicks to sign Roger Mason for one-year, $1.4 million contract. Knicks refused to give up future No. 1 pick to land Rudy Fernandez.

Eh won't really impact the outcome of their season, but its a reasonable short signing...

I love it.

Good cheap signing and he will help us in our backcourt.

Decent signing for the Knicks, he'll fit in well with that team.

WIN. I am very happy with this. Cheap, vet minimum worth (1.3 million for someone like Tim Thomas).

Will compete for the 2 and could be very good in this system.

Wow great signing for the Knicks. He's a semi decent creator for others as well.

It's interesting that the market couldn't bear more for him. He had a pretty bad year last year, but a career year on a winning team the year before it.

It can be an excellent signing for the Knicks, or at worst, not a bad one.

Eddie House replacement...he'll get at least 7 shots a game playing for Mike.

I agree, it surprises me a little too. Raja Bell hardly had a season to remember last year either, but the Jazz made what is considered a good signing and are paying him twice what Mason will make.

Good, low-risk signing for New York.

Roger Mason is the best 2 guard on the Knicks.

His outside shooting should make things a lot easier for Stoudemire. Plus, Mason should put up good numbers if his accuracy is back since D'Antoni doesn't mind his players hoisting it up.

Eh... Felton and Azubuike are better than him, I'd put Mason at 3rd.

Mason can flat out shoot the basket, he'll put up many 20 point nights for the Knicks.

Wow thats incredibily good value. Thought he would get a similar deal to what Brewer got from us, 3 yr type deal on 8-10 mil. Surprised by this. Fits the system perfectly. Good signing.

Good rookie season. Bad sophomore season on the Spurs (I don't mean his true rookie and sophomore seasons when he hardly played and bounced around). Let's see if he can rebound. It looks like they signed him once Shannon Brown said he was going to play for the Lakers.
