This.

There is a disgusting amount of misinformation regarding Steve Nash. Someone actually said Steve Nash has no shooting skill off the dribble unless the defense is already broken down.

Wow.

Exactly. Its like a moron convention in here. I'm disgusted with some of the stuff I read here, makes me not even want to come here, other than to tell people how stupid they are, but we can't even do that with the ridiculous censorship going on here.

Nash / Dragic
Pietris / Barbosa
Hill / Barnes
Stoudamire / Chris Andersen
Tyson Chandler (healthy) / JaVale McGee

I think the Suns were very close to getting it right, getting Shaq was prolly the biggest mistake they made. Just watch CP3 & Tyson Chandler highlight reels to see what kind of options Nash woulda had to pick n roll with.

Nash needs athletic guys with speed, some range, some defense and some hops.

P.S. I woulda put Dwight instead of Chandler or Joe Johnson instead of Pietris but wanted to keep it possible.

Have Amare not injured that season.

05-06 Suns with healthy Amare.

Bell (defensive guard), Marion (slasher, dirty work), Barbosa (6th man spark/energy), Diaw (versatility/length), Thomas (3 pt specialist). He had all the tools that season minus Amare.

Thank you Tsherkin.

Nash has amazing handles. Amazing handles doesn't always mean flashy breaking ankles stuff. Nash is the best in the league at keeping his dribble alive all over the court. That's a huge part of having "handles".

He actually does have some brutal crossovers too, though, that's the thing that people seem not to notice. He undresses people with his handle on a semi-regular basis. No one likes to talk about it, perhaps because it's not part of his reputation.

Agreed.

Also I've seen Nash beat the opposing PG off the dribble tons of times throughout his career. It just happens that there are slightly better ways to score (i.e pick and roll with Amare and so on) Just because it doesn't happen frequently doesn't mean it doesn't happen...

As above.

Also, the highlight reel crossovers that get everyone excited generally take place in iso situations where the ballhandler is looking to create his own shot, as opposed to setting up other players for a shot.
