Your unpopular opinions which you're hesitant to mention

Post#1 » by AChand90 » Tue Sep 28, 2010 5:42 pm

Your unpopular opinions which you're hesitant to mention on this board..

Things that you think would make people flame you if you said it...talk about those things here.

My list:

I don't think Jordan will ever be surpassed as the greatest basketball player to ever play.

I don't think the 72 win record will be broken.

I don't think the Heat will win a championship this year.

I believe AI still had a lot left in the tank and would take a bench role now.

I don't see what is so great about John Wall.

Oden will never be an effective center in the league.

Brian Scalabrine is better than what this board makes him out to be.

Melo > Durant

Nash > D. Will

I'll be back with more later probably.

NBA officials call almost all games fairly.

this just sounds like a flame war waiting to happen... but ill take a shot

i think the heat will win the championship and may even break 72 wins
i think kobe is great but extremely over rated. he has been gifted by being on great teams.
i think cp3 is over rated but ppl like him because hes marketable and flashy.

Okay, here are several:
The majority of the new generation of stars is vastly overrated; aside from Dwayne Wade (who's good but has his flaws), not one of them has the ability to put a team on his back and lead them to a title, although Kevin Durant might come close in a few years' time.

Tyreke Evans is not Lebron 2.0 or Basketball Jesus or whatever the Kings fans are hyping him up as this week; he's a talented guy with quite a few holes in his game (lack of a decent midrange shot, for example). If he works on shoring up his deficiencies, he'll likely be a long-term All-Star. If not, an empty stat stuffer.

No one **** cares about Rondo vs Rose besides people from Boston and Chicago. Yes, they're talented, but we don't need to hear you ranting about it every five minutes.

NBA players shouldn't have guaranteed salaries.

My list:

I don't think the Heat will win a championship this year.
CP 3 is overrated
CB 4 is overrated
Kidd is overrated
Al Jefferson is overrated(Jazz fans)
Adam Morrison will be out of the league soon.
Warriors > Clippers
Jared Dudley can play
Stephen Jackson > Caron Butler
OJ Mayo will be an all star.

I think D-Wade should not be even mentioned in the same breathe with Kobe Bean. Truly an insult.

This one's juicy. Is it because you think causes just way more of a matchup problem? It can't be because Dirk is a better rebounder or defender. And the offensive output is comparable, although done in different styles. So what's the deal here?

Hesitant to mention this? Considering he can barely get on an NBA roster, this really isn't a stretch.

Cliff Levingston thinks the Bulls have a real shot at the 2nd seed in the East behind Miami (yes that means a shot at near 60 wins) if everything goes well and we avoid critical/lengthy injuries.

F**k it!

I'd take Lebron over anybody in the history of the league not named Jordan.

Iverson's still capable of being a 27ppg scoring machine, All Star that can lead his team to the playoffs (although I'm not afraid to say that at all, that's a fact)

Kobe can't win a playoff round without a monstrous frontcourt.

Ron Artest is not funny and is just an idiot
Baron Davis is a good distributor and is a poor scorer
Oden can still be a great player
Fernandez can contribute to a team
Gordon should be rated alongside Mayo, not below him as most seem to do
Refs call most games completely fine, fans always look to blame the refs first
Nelson deserves some respect for bringing the Warriors back to the playoffs

Lebron tanked the Celtics series cause he already had plans in Wade Co.

This year's championship winner will be the Lakers or Heat.

I want to make a thread about how fans of other teams feel but I know some idiot mod will lock it.

If I had the 2nd pick in a fantasy draft, and Lebron was taken first, I'd take Dwight Howard

- Heat will win more than 72 games next year.
- Lebron is already better than Magic.
- Chris Paul will be better individually than Kobe and Durant next season.
- Dwight Howard is not a top 5 player , he can be shut down too easily as a scorer with a good gameplan against him ..and has no counter moves to avoid that from happening.
