Ok, as the topic suggests, would you pick up Oden for your team if you were the GM? What's the maximum deal you'd offer him?

For a mid-to-low level one year contract, yes.

Anything longer than one year is nuts for any team IMO.

Centers are hard to find. Oden would be a high risk very very high reward type of player. Teams will take a risk on him. There are plenty of teams who are missing a great big defensive center to contend.

BTW for Utah I think I would. I'd give him something like 1-2 years, maximum of $3M a year. I feel that at a low cost he's well worth taking a chance on.

You have to think long term. Yes, he's had an injury ridden career but he's still young. He has many years ahead of him.

Absolutely. He's still a big body with an above average defensive instinct.. Why not?

I have no doubt that his luck would turn around with the P&G.
