Teams with good financial outlook

Post#1 » by kd35sneighbor » Sun Nov 28, 2010 11:37 am

Just curious, are there any teams this year who looks to be a playoff team AND has a lottery pick from another team? Like the Jazz of last year with the #9 pick.

Also, I'd like to know people's opinions on which teams are paying their players at great prices and doesn't have any player holding them back financially.

And, would like to ask about people's opinions on the Spurs and the financial decisions they've made this offseason.

Finally, which teams do you guys think are so handicapped with their money that their future looks bleak?

Bulls own a 2012 Bobcats pick (lotto protected, but less protection throughout the years, so it'll be unprotected in 2016)
Jazz own a Grizzlies pick (not sure about the protection)
OKC own a 2012 Clips pick (not sure about the protection as well)

I'd say the Thunder would be one playoff team with financial stability

Financial problems would be.... Hawks(lol Joe Johnson), Grizzlies (Conley/Gay)

The Magic have Vince Carter off the books next year

They did. They traded it to Minnesota in the Jefferson trade

Vince is essentially off the books this year. Next year his contract is only partial guaranteed so unless the Magic win the chip, he's good as gone this summer.

LAC also owns Wolves 1st round pick (Cassel for Jaric Trade) not sure about protection but it should be unprotected within the next couple years

the celtics only have rondo and pierce signed through 2012. let's see what danny boy has up his sleeve with all that $$$.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their
shoes. That way, you'll be a mile from them, and
you'll have their shoes.

The Celtics are in a good spot. They are paying a lot now but they are winning. Rondo is locked in only making around 10 mil which is a great deal, and Shaq is playing for the min.
