Why not have 1 or 2 D-Leaguers in the contest who can actually dunk? The NBA dunk contest over the past few years has lost that luster it once had.

LOL! I started a thread a week ago about why LeBron should do the dunk contest and some clown moderator locked it. He said it didn't have enough substance for a thread.

Anyway, I think this is absolutely the perfect time for LeBron to finally enter. It could only help his Q-rating. Especially if D Howard would reconsider participating again.

Maybe he should hold a one hour TV special to announce whether he's going to be in it or not.

It would fit his "everybody look at me!!!!!" M.O.

If he knew for a fact some exciting importent names will attend it he will do it without a doubt.

He just doesn't want to waste doing the dunk contest if he doesn't really add to his 'greatness' against people like Demar Derozen and Shannon Brown.

If he knew DH12, Blake, Jrich and Nate are going to attend he'd already be talking about how fun it's going to be.

i think he knows he'd lose to griffin, so the only result would be another stain on his image....which he doesn't want.

"Wear and tear" is the most ridiculous excuse ever. He would do, at most, 4 dunks. He does more in pre-game warm-ups than he would do in the contest.

Also, he can get a big check from Sprite just for participating, I'm sure (as if he needs any more money).

Beyond that, you just have the villainy implications. If you want the fans to hate you, put out this story and then back out. If you want the fans to like you, show them something good.

The dunk contest and skills challenge are ridiculously boring in my opinion. Id rather just have a cheerleader challenge. Find the hottest cheerleader from each team, have them go out there and whoever can do the sluttiest dance wins

That said, it doesn't really matter if he joins or not. The dunk contest will be a bore once again.

Nique is arguably the best dunk contesting ever. Alone with VC and MJ. I would be interested to see Bron.

Because ppl want to see dunk contestant in the NBA dominating. That's the reason why ppl don't like J Rich in the dunk contest. His game wasn't as dominate as his dunks.

How is a dunk contest going to have any significant wear and tear on your body?

He locked it within reason. The GB has had too many threads started with no reason nor substance. Start a topic, especially on the GB with the new rules we have in place stickied above, with a source, and 9 times out of 10 your thread will not get locked.

Griffin vs LBJ would revive the dunk contest, even if it's just for this year.

Wear and tear? lol just do a few dunks and please the fans.

Why does it have to be so dramatic? Does he need an ESPN special to decide if he's in the stupid contest or not?

This is what he wants, to get you guys talking about him. He's already declared before only to back peddle out of it. Now he's "undecided," huh?

Yeah, this thread going on multiple pages is proof enough that Lebron may be the biggest attention whore in sports today.

Ledunk got scare. He talks way too much. I think he's afraid his power dunk will get exposed in a dunk contest.
