Dell Demps (Hornets) belongs on here.

Also whoever the Spurs GM is is definitely number one. No where near the resources as the Lakers have and they have the better team this year and have been more consistent in the past decade.

Houston has a good GM as well.

I would add Presti, Walsh, and O'Connor to that list.

Jerry Buss is the owner, not the GM, Mitch Kupchak is the Lakers GM.

1. Buford
2. Ainge
3. Presti
4. Donny Nelson
5. Morey/Riley (tie)

The 5 worst:

30. Kahn

28. Ujiri
27. King
26. Dumars (3 horrible mistakes in the last 2-3 years)

Presti's rep will either be solidified or destroyed this summer imo.

If he resigns Green and doesnt get a big man...

Kupchak is the best "trader"
Buford is the best "drafter"
Riley is the best "free agent signer"

With Mitch besides the Gasol trade (which was obviously his masterpiece) he also has

Trevor Ariza for Brian Cook and Evens

and Shannon Brown and Adam Morrison for vladrad.

The only "bad trade" was Shaq for Lamar Odom, Caron, and Grant. But no one gets much better when trading a superstar.

All that being said Jerry West > all (back when he was with the Lakers)

That more because of the location and Wade already on roster. Imagine him trying to get those to Milwaukee, Sotta, Charlotte or other small market teams.

1.Riley for obvious reasons
2.Buford for succeeding time and time again with such a small market team
3.Kupchak for hijacking Gasol and putting together repeat c'ships
4.Ainge for getting the big 3 and winning a c'ship with it
5.Presti for rebuilding the right way and drafting well aside from the possible stinker in Harden

sixth man-Gar Forman and Kevin Pritchard

If Buford isn't first on your list, then you're an idiot.

Shoe-in HOFer with the 56th pick in Ginobili
Another borderline HOFer in Tony Parker with the last pick or close to last pick in the 1st round.
George Hill in the late first round is one on the best 6th men in the league
signed Bruce Bowen, who was a no name before going to SA
Signed Stephen Jackson, who was also a no name before SA and has had a very respectable career since leaving.
Drafted Luis Scola with a late pick, owner decided it was too much money to sign him when he came over (can you imagine if they signed this guy? Boston's and LA's last 2 championships would be in serious question).
Drafted Blair with the 37th.
Signed undrafted Gary Neal
Drafted John Salmons, Barbosa, Dragic, Beno Udrih

He is second to none. Virtually everyone he's drafted and signed has gone on to be productive in some capacity.

So what at the end of the day he pulled the "unlikely" by even shedding enough to get all three while getting pieces to fit. Next year If heat get a good center it will establish him as an even bigger mastermind.
