Will Rasheed Wallace come back?

Post#1 » by cdubbz » Mon Jan 31, 2011 9:00 pm

Not sure if he officially retired, but I remember hearing rumors that he would join the Celtics after the all-star break. If so, even if he is washed up and even a lesser player than he was last season -- he is still a very physical 6'11 power forward that will hack the crap and give a hard foul to prevent layups to anyone in the NBA. To me, that is a skill that many teams are lacking..that physical toughness around the rim that will make little guards and other big men think twice about going in for a dunk. Not sure the Celtics need Wallace with Erden playing as good as he is for the 3rd center off the bench, but I think Wallace would be great in the playoffs. Plus he has 16 technical fouls to work with for the rest of the season.

16 technicals isn't gonna be enough for the rest of the season.

There is an open Head Coaching Position at Indiana that he should heavily consider

Orlando needs him, we need some mentally and physical toughness.
Smart / Micic / D. Wright
Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott
Randle / Vonleh / Stokes
Embiid / Nurkic/ Tavares

I think there's only one way this may happen: if by the deadline Boston is pessimistic about Jermaine O'Neal's health status for the playoffs.

Sheed would never join Bosh and James. He hates them both.

I can only see him returning to the Celtics but I highly doubt that unless Celtics don't think JO will be a go for the playoffs. They will need to do some convincing too.
