Granted i don't see a whole lot of NBA games because of the time difference... But if i had to single out one player as the worse defender i have seen it would have to be Amar'e. I swear he does more harm then good when on defense. Sometimes it would be better if the team played with 4 players. Especially defending the p'n'r. I saw him a few times bumping his own player lol...

Anyway here is a nice example f him playing defense lol:

Where is stephen jackson he is the sole reason the bobcats constantly get dominated. the mans only defense would be a glock to the head to his defender while wearing his bloods colours after the game

Yeah this system punishes guys that are forced to play the toughest players on the opposing team straight up.

Where is..

Steve Nash
Kevin Love
Stephen Jackson
Derrick Rose

These guys may be put on the easiest assignment defensively so they look okay on defense even if they play lackluster defense but that shouldn't exclude them by default.

Yeah poor Batum guarding guys like LBJ/Wade or Kobe 1on1 tough to play that %#$% man on man defense.

JR Smith is actually a pretty decent defender, he just gambles too much at times. He checked Kobe pretty good in the WCF.

I don't see any front-court players. David Lee is by far the worst defender in the NBA, there's not much debate.

any worst defender list that doesn't have Jose Calderon on it is flawed

and LOL at the typical reaction of a lot of GB posters giving some assertion credibility because it fits their bias. Until we cans see just what criteria and data was used to formulate this ranking, it's just noise.

Not even hundreds.

I wouldn't put much stock into this anyway. You watch clips of guys defending and it's evident there's a huge difference between them. I always recommend people to take some minutes and go through the clips, see their assignments, see how are they being scored on, the kind of help they get, etc. Batum is an above average defender.

Batum looks bad because he's always put on the other team's toughest guy and is never hidden on defense and rarely gets the help of a double team. He's had games where a star player torches him, but then he's also played good, and often times clutch D on everyone from Deron Williams to Dirk Nowitzki.

And really people, still mocking Portland fans about the Pippen thing? The comparison was only made because of his body type, and was a sentiment shared by MICHAEL JORDAN. So Bulls fans, you may want to chill out with the mocking.

I'm shocked that JR Smith knows what defense is. I love his offensive ability (minus the often ridiculous shot taking), but he is a lacking defender at best. His energy on the defensive end makes Carlos Boozer's defensive effort look Ginobili-esque.

If you had said that about JR 3, maybe even 2 years ago I'd agree. But not lately. In fact JR's one of the few Nuggets that's been playing hard on both ends of the floor this year.

I can respect this post. Politely shutting me down, haha.

I haven't been able to watch most of the nuggets games, only a few here and there. I guess I was judging based on past performance, not what he has done this season.

LMAO. Great stuff.

Oh and what is with K-Love? I was looking for him on this list. He sometimes seems to not even try.

LOL on Batum tho, guy got clowned.

A guy called Wiggy is not going to make that happen. Call him King Wiggins, A-Wolf or whatever.

You can't base defense on stats. You watch the player. Your eyes can tell you more about a player's defense than stats.

To me, the worst defenders are the lazy players who don't give a [EDIT: language]
Players like Melo, or Rose, or Durant.

Mike Dunleavy has to be on this list. Otherwise it's just pure hogwash.
