Rose's MVP: Problem is the voters, not Rose

Post#1 » by ElGee » Fri Apr 1, 2011 7:35 pm

Not sure if this should be stuck in the MVP discussion -- it's less about arguing Rose v. Howard/James/etc. and more about WHY someone like Rose wins MVP and the problems with the process:

For the record, I have Rose 4th but think it's all quite close. Again, the issue is the process cheapens the award...

So true, this isn't an MVP award anymore. It's the most inspirational, most compelling story award.

Another Rose MVP thread? Really? And to promote your website?

How lame. This should be considered spam.

Not spam.

I actually read it, it's actually a well written, intelligent piece with a lot of good points.

say what???

Rose is MVP because he SHOULD be.

Whether anyone likes it or want to believe it or not.

Dwight/Kobe/Dirk are very close as well but overall Rose beats them by a hair. Live with it.

That's a sound argument with many logical points you made there.

You aren't living with it. Milt Palacio co MVP with DRose, live with that too.

It's also a great example of what someone that would vote for Rose would say. ie. Pretty much nothing objective.

Rose is not any worse of a choice than Kobe. I mean, 25, 4 and 8 is still a little better than 25, 5 and 5. Include defense and they're pretty much a wash.

Objectively, it should be Lebron again, but I suppose that even the fans themselves fall to the same trap.
