If I saw some sort of QVC infommercial where they were selling a pillow made from those players, I would buy it.

Please consider any of the Don Nelson-led Mavericks teams as well: Pillowy soft for your sleeping comfort.

EDIT: Damn you, Spanish Laker!

That depleted "softest team ever" almost beat one of the greatest Celtics team ever without key players Andrew Bynum and Trevor Ariza.

/thread. There can't possibly have been a softer team in existence.

Explain. IIRC the Lakers were down 3-1 in that series and 2-0 from the start. They were never really close to beating the '08 Celtics. Didn't they suffer the worst loss in Finals history in game 6?

2006 Seattle Supersonics finished the year with:

Luke Ridnour
Ray Allen
Rashard Lewis
Chris Wilcox
Johan Petro

Fourth worst DRTG of all time, they are definitely the worst defensive team I've ever seen play.

Yeah, that was pretty cringe-worthy. Who were the three teams worse than them?

As a die hard NBA and Raps fan I have to agree. That team made you pull your hair out, absolutely gutless basketball.

C - Dirk
PF - Jamison
SF - Walker
SG - Finley

If Michael Finley is the by far best defender on your team, you know you are in deep ****.

Did you forget about game 6  ? They were also down by 1-3 in one point in the series + choked a 20 point lead. Does that seem "almost" ?

Taking into account we had two MAJOR injuries (no Bynum no Ariza) and we had to start Radmanovic at the 3, I think it was a hard-fought, fierce and close NBA Finals except Game 6 obviously:

Game 1: Lakers leading all the way, lose the lead in the 3rd Q and the Celtics win closely.
Game 2: Celtics blowing the Lakers out, but they come back and almost steal the game.
Game 3: Great defensive game, the Lakers win closely.
Game 4: Lakers blowout and greatest NBA comeback in NBA Finals history by the C's.
Game 5: Lakers close win.
Game 6: Massacre.

It could have gone either way.

First off, Vlade != VladRad. LOL. That's just a huge FAIL on that guy's part. Secondly, as much as it sucks to say it, I semi agree with him. Kobe and Fish will always be tough players but VladRad, '08 Gasol and '08 Odom were pretty soft and reluctant out there on the floor.

Furthermore, while LA was missing a lot out there by not having Bynum, this whole revisionist history thing about Ariza being a major piece that year is pretty ridiculous. Ever since Trevor came up big in '09, folks have gone back and rewritten things as if he would have been an important contributor in '08 as well. He didn't have his breakout season until the following year. Boston was BY FAR the better team in '08.

I don't think you know what close means. I could say the '08 Spurs were close to beating the Lakers but that would be dumb.

Game 1: Spurs leading all the way, lose the lead in the 3rd quarter and the Lakers win closely
Game 2: Lakers blowout
Game 3: Spurs win
Game 4: Lakers close win, no free throws for Brent Barry which would have send the game to OT
Game 5: Spurs leading all the way, lose the lead in the 3rd, Lakers win

It could have gone either way.
