How Chris Bosh and other forwards effect game defensively

Post#1 » by daniel3 » Thu May 5, 2011 2:52 am

Not necessarily small forwards, but in watching a number of power forwards, like Chris Bosh and others of his level, I've noticed that many of the successful defenses have a power forward that actively contributes to all aspects of the defensive scheme. They rotate and help the guards, they support the center, they set more screens than any other position, and set the general tone of the defense.

Lets look at Miami for an example, many people visually see much of the impact Lebron/Wade/Joel has, but Bosh's defensive impact supports all their efforts by keeping not his man in check, but offering solid help defense to almost every other position on the court.
