This is being made into a much bigger deal that it is. Its a movie. If anyone blames this tactic for the lakers losing this series I wouldn't even know where to begin. What movie you watch doesn't make or break a championship run.

He's always done this kind of stuff, mixing in silly film clips and giving books to teach his basketball tactics. It's part of why players liked him. Kukoc talked about it in an interview...

Also with the Lakers, there was that time Phil kept flashing pictures of Adleman with a Hitler stache during film sessions for Kings series as a joke.. which offended them.

Phil believed that the situation was so dire that he felt he needed to attack their manhood in order to get them to play at the necessary level. I guess it was too late. They were already beaten, being down 3-0.
