Jeff Teague Accused of Sexual Assault

A former Wake Forest student will appear on NBC’s Today Show on Thursday morning to accuse NBA star Jeff Teague and his former Demon Deacon Basketball teammate of sexually assaulting her the night before the team's first-round NCAA tournament game in 2009.

The victim filed a complaint at the time with the Miami police department alleging that former Wake Forest guard Gary Clark sexually assaulted her in a hotel bathroom while teammate Jeff Teague stood watch outside. Miami police investigated the woman's claims but did not file charges because of insufficient evidence.

Given his role it might not affect him much, but this is a last straw for Wake's AD if they in fact ignored the complaint at the time. Wake basketball is in shambles.

and SMH at "Now that he's been on TV." He the leading candidate for POY a couple months before this supposedly happened.

If the police back then found there to be insufficient evidence, what's there for him to worry about? And couldn't he sue her for defamation since she has little to no evidence?

The problem more than anything is that she is even being given a platform to make an accusation that will stick with Teague the rest of his life, and there will likely be little to no consequence for her to accuse him.

Society is quick to allow claims of sexual assault against men, but at the same time is unforgiving and unforgetful even when the man has been cleared of all charges.

It's shameful and irresponsible of NBC to bring someone on TV and allow them to make such a serious claim against him or anyone else, especially when there is no re-opening of the investigation and when the initial investigation already cleared him of wrong doing.
