Draft Question

I'm wondering. what stops a top Draft player (say Irving in this case), from foregoing the draft, and just becoming a free agent, and singing with a team of his choice. Is this 'against the rules'?

im guessing you cant enter the league without declaring for the draft

I think you have to go through the draft at least once before you can enter the league. I think if you go undrafted then you could sign as a FA with anyone. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah this makes sense. So you have to 'ENTER' the draft, but if you make it through without being selected, then you can be a FA.
