DALLAS -- Jason Terry's tattoo of the Larry O'Brien Trophy could be temporary.

If his Dallas Mavericks don't beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, Terry said he would have the tattoo removed from the inside of his right biceps.

"I definitely know that it will hurt worse if I have to take this thing off than it did putting it on," Terry said Sunday after the Mavericks wrapped up their final practice before boarding their flight to Miami.

If the Mavs fail to win their first NBA championship, Terry said it would mean his tattoo was bad luck.

"I'm very superstitious," he said.

He's superstitious, but did this in the offseason? This is almost dumber than publishing parade routes before winning the series. Good thing he didn't do it during the playoffs or it would've been dumber. What kind of loser tattoos the trophy on himself without winning one first? He should've just bought Artest's ring and worn it like he earned it, because this is not that much better...

'When I was a recovering addict, I tattooed "You got this" under where my watch goes and every time i thought about giving in i just gave that tattoo a long look and it honestly was the reason I was able to keep going and stay strong...does that make me cocky? No, it's called self motivation. Everyone took pictures of this during the season and than asked him about it, and he answered their questions... It's not like he got the tattoo and than tweeted it and said "We already won!" or like I said, he didn't go out on a stage in front of fans before playing one game with his teammates and promise 7+ rings... but this really isn't something that should be causing as much controversy as it is, should he tattoo "Failed in 2006" or something or his arm? I will admit he will have some explaining to do if he never wins one, but u can always turn it into something else like K-Mart's (Please Use More Appropriate Word) lips tattoo
