If Chicago and Boston had played, who would've won?

Post#1 » by Tim_Hardawayy » Thu May 26, 2011 3:57 pm

Obviously we never got to see this matchup this year in the playoffs, but if Chicago and Boston had played each other, which team would've won? I think its an interesting question, Chicago was playing at a higher level at the end of the season, but Rose has really struggled in the playoffs and you have to wonder how he'd fare against a Boston team geared up to stop him.

Miami's defense > Boston's defense

Chicago's given Miami a heck of a lot more trouble than Boston did. Great as Boston is, I can't see them being able to score against Chicago's D. Or rebound. That + HC advantage would ultimately prove to be the difference.

It actually looks like the same exact thing. Miami wins their home games and then wins the close games.

The difference is that Rondo got his elbow snapped midway through game 3. Boston would've beaten Chicago this year.

Boston would have. Chicago doesn't have the offensive output the way that Boston does, and they pretty much run the same defense. The x-factor in the series would be rebounding and second chance points. If Chicago gets a lot of boards and points in that way, they could win, but i still like the chances on Boston's side.

Either way Rose would have snapped Rando's ankles :P

I think Boston would have found ways to score at better efficiency than Miami has so far against Chicago, and their defense is a very good one too. That's why I think Boston would have won.

with homecourt, probably Chicago would be the safe pick

However, Rondo would of guarded Rose very well imo. Its close

Based on what?

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... =rondora01

Keep in mind those include his first two season's worth of games when he wasn't averaging 25, and check the percentages

I think the Celtics had really bad luck this year. They had an injury bug that just didnt get away, the awful perkins trade, no healthy centers and no back-ups for ray and pierce.

Rose would've abused Rondo, but I think Boston offense gives them the edge in that matchup.

Healthy playoff Rondo > playoff chocker Rose.

I'd go with Boston if the Perkins trade didn't happen but yeah since that happened Bulls in 7. (4 of those in OT)
