..Need to understand miller is an expiring, along with a A.Clause on Gilbert Arenas. This could be the answer Magic Fans have been looking for in order to be in the race for both DH12 and CP3.
WHY do I have to continue reminding these Magic fan that their TEAM cannot sign a superstar player NO MATTER what happen this season?
Few facts to understand:
1. Amnesty Clause won't erase/reduce salary cap. It counts toward the cap, but not luxury tax.
2. Orlando salary cap for 2012 is 75 millions with Dwight exercising his option or 69 millions if Orlando keeps Miller and his expired contract. Without Howard exercising his 19 millions option for 2012, a team cannot sign a max player until Dwight inks the extension because Dwight contract MUST count toward the cap first before salary space is calculated. At best, your team has 7millions to spend on free agent in 2012.
that was the amnesty clause before, we have no idea if it will happen again, and how it would be handled, but all the rumors are that it will affect BOTH salary cap and luxury cap.
do a little math, but after the end of next year, with 1 more trade, the Magic could be pretty low on salary, only assuming the amnesty clause is in effect.
