The only embarrassment in this thread is the self-rightious crybabies riding in on their high horses as if they knew these people personally. You don't give a damn about them and neither do any of the other posters in this thread. Why fake the funk?? False compassion is an embarassment. The comment wasn't offensive to me at all. I laughed. Like I said, I didn't find the mod's post offensive at all. You can call it hypocrisy if you want but it is what it is. And just as you claim it's hypocrisy to get behind a computer screen and type outlandish statements about someone's death, hypocrisy also comes into play when you have a bunch of people sitting behind computer screens acting as though they give a damn about someone whom they have never encountered before. Don't get all pissy and self-rightious simply because some people tend to take a more genuine approach towards the matter. Is it unfortunate, yes. Was the mod's joke in bad taste, maybe. Was it offensive to me, no. Not in the least bit.

I'm on the side that thinks the jokes here are a bit too out of character (although some of them are kind of funny), though it's self righteous comments like these that make the internet annoying to read. Obviously if this concerned a family member this would be much different. In the end no one gives a **** about a random stranger's misfortunes. People only care about a car crash if they knew the people in it. Doesn't mean people shouldn't have a universal care for humanity, but again what annoys the hell out of me are self righteous people.
