Speaking of the Perk trade, Perk would have walked away anyway this offseason because some other team would have overpaid for him. Celtics had no chance keeping him, thats why the trade happened.

Glad some people understand this. More importantly glad Jeff Green is going to get the medical attention he needs. Look forward to his return next year.

Freakin' awful... just hope everything goes well and he'll come back next year.

He's got game, but just has to get more time with Boston and fitting into the team.

wow there's a lot of A$$holes here on this board. Aortic aneurysm is a very serious condition. If your aorta ruptures the most likely result is you die. This type of thing doesn't necessarily reflect one's health habits and can happen to anyone. Its very unfortunate for someone so young to deal with something like that. I wish him all the best!

tough luck for Jeff Green but good to hear he'll be able to have a normal NBA career afterwards.

That isn't true. Celtics still retain rights to Jeff Green, and can match any offer offered to him when he gets back.

I don't think they will. Someone will offer a 4/32 contract and Boston will probably let him go.

Hope he gets better after the surgery. I'm also hoping that Chuck Hayes doesn't have the same problem. He's worked real hard to get where he is now and his biggest contract of his career.

You really think someone will offer that much to a guy just coming off heart surgery? Also, you seem to forget that we have A LOT of contracts coming off the books in the off season and Boston can offer him the same money if they wanted to.

Which team will offer that kind of money to a player who missed a season due to a heart surgery?

Word. An aneurysm is a structural weakness in the wall of a blood vessel; in someone that young who isn't abusing coke or meth or anything that hard, that's likely a congenital defect, not his fault at all.

1) I hope he'll recover

2) Couldn't this have been discovered before he resigned?
edit: just saw that his contract has been voided. So I guess the Celts can replace him. Hopefully for him he's able to recover and come back next season

Hope Green gets better. Wish him the best.

On another note, the Celtics are dealt another blow. Perkins trade looks worse by the day.

You should read up on the deaths of Hank Gathers and Reggie Lewis. Heart issues are what kill basketball players dead right there on the court. They are absolutely the scariest health concern, and whenever I hear anything like this I get filled with dread.

Best wishes to Jeff Green. Nothing matters right now except his health.

Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Jermaine O'Neal, Keyon Dooling, Marquis Daniels. Brandon Bass too if he doesn't pick up his player option.

I don't like the guy as a basketball player, but I really hope he makes a full recovery and can get back on the court. He should take as much time as he needs to recover and make sure he's 100%.
