I think OKC would beat Mem but they aren't close tot he same team. I mean Gay was out during that entire run last year. Most would say he is their best player...

They don't have Battier to bother Durant anymore and Westbrook is a Grizzlies-killer (seriously. Check this #s against Mem this year). And Memphis has good post guys but their perimeter shooting is god awful. Not a favorable matchup vs OKC's wings and post defense.

Don't want to derail too much, but NYK without Lin and Amare is tough? Boston's weaknesses (rebounding) is Chicago's strength. I don't think Chicago's path is untypical at all for 1 seed.

Orlando is a bad matchup for Miami, they'll probably still win but it could be a tough series. Indy is punchy too and would get at least 1 game.

^^ yeah but don't forget Boston is a great shooting team. And chicago's strength in D is clogging the paint.

Amare will be back for the playoffs and the last time we had a shortened season the Knicks came out of the East from the 8 seed. They have really responded to Woodson and are playing well above their current seed. I am confident the Bulls will beat them but its not an ideal matchup.

The Celtics have been the best team in the NBA over the last 5 weeks, despite missing RayRay for a portion of that time. If you think the Bulls are going to roll over them you are mistaken. They are going to be a tough out in the playoffs.

Orlando is NOT going to give Mia that much trouble in the playoffs and isn't even guaranteed to beat ATL (after all, they didn't last year) in the 1st rd. I would really like to see them get Mario, Miller, and Turiaf playing well going into the playoffs but all these projections based on games that essentially don't matter for Mia are foolish. I think they are a bigger favorite now than they have been in a while as the playoffs start setting up.

I do think it's interesting that (arguably) the best two players in basketball this season and the top two MVP candidates are playing on teams with guys that on any given night can have a better game than them. Granted, they're the best players on their teams more often than they're not, and that's why they're the MVPs but it's still something fun to note.

Durant has this wrapped up as long as he doesn't choke tomorrow. Voters remember the last impression the most and the standings are still tight so he needs another good game. If Lebron outplays him and the Heat catch OKC in the standings it will be much more of a toss-up.

I said this before the last Heat/OKC game. :-?

I expect the Heat to win though... They're on a 16 game winning streak or something crazy like that at home.

Bills Simmons still has LBJ as MVP. LBJ will win it if he plays like himself the last 3 weeks.

He had a HUGE dropoff since the break for Durant to overtake him slightly in the media's eyes. But if LBJ puts up 27,8,8 like he has all season, he'll win it. People understand LBJ does more for the Heat than Durant for OKC.

I am a Raptors fan and Still have LeBron as my MVP. I believe that if That if OKC wins tonight and Durant outplays James again, then he deserves it.

Skip Bayless "LeBron's game last night was the worst thing to happen to the Heat. He needs to get back comfortable being a PG and deferring to the Heat"

just said it.

Why do people get so emotional when he makes comments against LeBron?

Take him for what he is -- a controversial sports journalist. There's no point in getting bent out of shape about it.
