Is there any confirmation that he did get his knee drained?

there doesn't seem to be, the closest I could find is this tweet from Jim Rome

"Did Wade drain his knee again and just not tell anyone?"

http://twitter.com/jimrome/statuses/213480044532731906

but that seems to be referring to his play Thursday.

IIRC Wade implied you need a 3 day break to get your knee drained when it happened in the second round. There are only 2 days off here, so I doubt he did. I don't think he has the time in the remaining Finals games.

I also doubt he needs to have it drained even if it is bothering him again. He can risk aggravating his knee and playing in immense pain since these are the last games of the season and worry about recovery in the off season. I'm sure his knee is an issue as other basketball players (or anyone) who have knee drains only find it to be a short term fix.

I think its obvious he is playing hurt and is somewhat less inclined to risk it all in the hopes of a single play---but its imperative he is able to play for the rest of the series because behind him, there isn't any other options on the bench. Its sort of your double edged sword. You expect him to take it to the rim every time the opportunity rises, and I'm sure he wants to, but he knows an injury could yield far worse results for both his team and himself.

I'm surprised he is admitting to slowing down from an athletic standpoint, though. You don't normally get that kind of response from athletes who have been at or close to the top of the heep in their professional sport until they're practically a year or two from retirement---it must be a very real and serious thing with Wade. You could predict he's about to (or already has) hit a steep decline, but he's basically admitting to it

Injuries and not "Father Time" are responsible for his subpar play during some stretches this year. When he actually rested from his various injuries in January and came back healthy he was arguably the best player in the league for a 6-8 week span. Unfortunately, he couldn't avoid more minor but nagging injuries, and the sore knee is definitely affecting him in the playoffs.

I'd put Wade, Ginobili and Harden ahead of Kobe.

Wade's always been like this. He said Rose was more athletic than him a few years ago too, when he was arguably the 1 or 2 most athletic dude in the league. I don't think Wade has lost much athletically at all, he's just playing hurt.
