Losing in the finals >>>>> losing in the 1st or second round.
It's not a feat to be proud of that Jordan never got into the finals as a heavy underdog in 87 or 88, if anything it's quite the contrary.

Never losing with HCA >>>>>>>>>>>>>

I was thnking about LeBron and the 07 Cavs actually and the fact that ome people use losing that final to undermine him.

After losing 3 straight years with HCA you can hold that against him.

This is so stupid. OF course Durant can be the GOAT but why are we talking about it now?

Why is everyone so obsessed with finding a player better than Jordan?

Durant has a chance to be top 10.However as a player he is not as impactful as jordan. This is durant's 5th year and he doesnt do anything besides scoring to impact the game his defense is still just above average he doesnt have the ability to control the floor like MJ did.Even centers had that ability. However,he is one of the best pure scorers we have ever seen thats for sure.

Some youngsters haven't even seen a full game of Michael Jordan.
Let the rings let the MVPs
Durant will never be like players Jordan,Bird,Magic,Kobe,LeBron(no need to speak about PF and C players) for a simple reason. He isn't that good.He isn't unique talent like them.
All the great players have playmaking abilities and Durant hasn't that. You can find many good scorers in the History. But you can't find all around talents.
Durant has first to be the best player in the league and this is impossible with LeBron still at 27.Also he has to have at least one GOAT season.

How is a Finals loss worse than a conference Finals loss? I will never understand that reasoning.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Kobe only SG in NBA history to lead his team in assists for 10 seasons.

98-99,03-04: 0.4 APG behind Harper/Payton -almost 12 seasons

If he wins 8 ships and 8 mvp finals he is the goat for sure no matter what finals he lost.

There are other ways to surpass MJ, for one longevity, sustained excellence in waning years of his career can make up for any sort of blemish.

PS I agree, its USUALLY better to make the Finals and lose than get ousted beforehand. Like would Durant be given more credit if he had just lost to the Spurs?

There has never been an offensive player like him. His playmaking is improving as well. Its not impossible to see his GOAT potential.

T-Mac was constantly double team and Durant get all of his shot from off screen. T-mac is also shorter than Durant so which only makes him better. T-Mac could shoot and had playmaking skills. You give Kobe, T-Mac or any superstar the same shot that Durant has and they would still be just as efficient. Durant is good but he is the product of Westbrook and Harden.

...

That actually a) doesn't make sense and b) doesn't address the point I was making. Also, you said that T-Mac was shorter and that somehow made him better, which is ridiculous.
