durant vs lebron is a great marketing though.

The lebron/melo rivalry was ideal. Their play against each other predates the nba, both got drafted high in 03, same position, both joined teams that have a rival history. The only thing keeping it from being a rivalry is melo and his team's struggle to win in the postseason. Because of that, lebron has more of a rivalry with pierce than he does with melo

I think if the Pistons took Melo that year.....Then it would have been a real rivalry.

LeBron is much older. Who knows if teams make adjustments and throw the Heat or the Thunder out of the finals? I don't think they'll go to the finals 6 years in a row. After 3 straight finals you can see that teams get more tired.

the difference in age between lebron and durant is about the difference in age between magic and bird. lebron being 4 years older than durant, bird being 3 years older than johnson.

Durant is torching the league, averaging 30 ppg on an absurd 64 TS% in the playoffs and 34 ppg on 70 TS% in the finals

But no team Durant has faced is as good as that Celtics team....especially defensively...They're different...LeBron may have not led this OKC team to the finals or to a title....but Durant wouldnt have taken the Celtics to 7 games with that Cleveland roster..

That team was #3 in the league in rebounding, #7 in shotblocking, and #9 in defense.

Game 1: LeBron goes 2-18 with 12 points and 10 turnovers. They lose 72-76
Game 2: LeBron goes 6-24 with 21 points and 7 turnovers
Game 3: LeBron goes 5-16 with 21 points. They win by 24
Game 4: LeBron goes 7-20 with 21 points. They win by 11
Game 5: LeBron plays well they lose
Game 6: LeBron goes 9-23 with 8 turnovers. They win by 8
Game 7: LeBron plays well they lose


He played like absolute garbage in 5 of the 7 games and they won 3 of them, losing one game by 4 points where Durant would have NEVER played that poorly. They win game 1 with Durant, fact. Are you telling me another on of those games, LeBron played superbly and made the difference where Durant couldn't match?
