White House drafts Jeremy Lin in AD to help women

Postby spaceballer on Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:13 pm

Usually Knicks-related threads are started in GD by non-knicks fans and end up as a thread bashing the Knicks. But I figure no one can bash a good cause like this (I'm sure someone will prove me wrong). And I think it's a worthwhile AD that should be spread around to help a good cause.

ESPN wrote:Vice President Joe Biden recruited major stars representing a variety of sports to appear in a new public service announcement released Thursday.

Biden, President Obama, quarterback Eli Manning, basketball star Jeremy Lin, baseball's Jimmy Rollins, Evan Longoria and Joe Torre, soccer star David Beckham, and ESPN sports analyst Andy Katz all appear in the PSA that condemns violence against women.

"No one should ever hit a woman," Beckham tells the camera in the video.

"Not their wife, not their girlfriend, not their date," Lin continues.

The PSA will air this summer on the ESPN Networks, the Fox Sports Networks, MLB Network, and NFL Network, according to the White House.

This is a good cause. Good for Jeremy Lin.

Nobody should hit anyone else(Not just women) outside of certain circumstances(i.e. defending yourself against someone trying to mug you or trying to protect family)

Cool, not sure so I'd call Lin a star tho but great for them. Anything to reduce violence is a plus.

It's kind of sad that this is a PSA.

I guess Jason Kidd wasn't available

jokes aside even tho Lin may not be a star people certainly know who he is, smart to get him involved.

Gosh maybe I been wrong all these year's? I thought beating my wife was good for her, I never took the strap to her for personel pleasure. Only to get what I wanted and to get it done fast. I may have to re-think things. Just to clear things up, I never punched my wife. Just slapped the taste out of her mouth and a few kicks here and there. But Jeremy Lin message is getting through to me now. [thank you Jeremy]

This isn't funny and I have to wonder what's going through your head to make you think that it is.
Or you could just be 14-years-old which is probably the case.

This is lame as hell

How about no one should hit a man

No one should hit a child?

No one should hit their dog?

No one should hit their mother?

No one should hit a crackhead?

No one should hit their father?

This feminist crap is freaking annoying

Get this crap outta here.

You are right

Jeremy Lin begging men to stop hitting their mothers, daugthers, wives and dates is funnier...

Hey Jeremy, what if I hit her and she likes it like that?

OR is that wrong too?

You're a **** person. This "feminist crap" exists because men are disproportionately given more respect and power in our society. If you don't think that's true, you're a sexist moron.

Three posts in a row telling RealGM how much you hate women. I'm sorry that a woman has never consented to sex with you. I can't imagine why.
